Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration.\nResponsibilities\nDesigns and architect’s database solutions.\nOptimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance, and cost.\nPerforms data analysis to provide management with timely and accurate information and predict future requirements.\nEnsures service level agreements are met for internal and external clients.\nProvide strategic engineering solutions to drive technological improvements\nTake ownership of projects to ensure successful implementation including Tech-Stack upgrade efforts\nFoster relationship and act as a technical liaison between the DBA Team and the Lines of Business\nMonitors database performance, availability, and capacity.\nParticipates in continuous business process redesign to improve internal operations.\nPerforms backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configures database parameters and prototype designs against logical data models, and defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements\nOptimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost\nEnsures service level agreements are met for internal and external clients\nProvides status reports that detail issues for escalation to management\nPerforms configuration, scripting, analysis, installation, monitoring, administration and tuning for database management systems\nPerform troubleshoot Service broker queues, messages flow, and stuck messages flow.\nPerform BizTalk SQL server support and SME to support messages SLA.\nPerforms data analysis to provide management with timely and accurate information and predict future requirements\nDevelops, implements and tests database backup and recovery policies and procedures.\nCreates and maintains documentation for database policies, procedures, and processes.\nPerforms/schedules routine maintenance on databases to keep them running at peak performance.\nMonitors database performance, availability, and capacity\nReview database storage utilization to ensure proper whitespace allocations\nReview and develop trend analysis for incident remediation and prevention \nParticipates in continuous business process redesign to improve internal operations\nInterfaces with user departments remotely and on-site to assist in the implementation of work requests and provide operational support\nTroubleshoots issues and recommends solutions\nResearch and evaluate new RDBMS for possible implementation\nPerforms other duties as required\nKnowledge and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience\n9+ years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment.\nRequired to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation\nExpert level knowledge of SQL Server database management systems (2012, 2014, 2017, & 2019 and 2022 [SQL 2025 is a plus]) \nExpert level knowledge SQL performance and tuning\nExpert level knowledge of Microsoft Distributed Availability Group (DAG), Always-On Availability Groups in local and geographically dispersed data centers\nExtensive knowledge of task automation\nStrong database design and analysis skills\nExpert level Knowledge of backup and recovery operations for database management systems\nExpert level Knowledge of database encryption such as Always Encrypted, Protegrity, TDE, and TLS\nExpert level Knowledge of OS, storage, and network layers for troubleshooting purposes\nExpert level Knowledge of relational database concepts and terminology\nAbility to monitor and tune databases and instances\nAbility to maintain and monitor availability, security, and integrity of databases\nAbility to focus on production and customer needs and deliverables\nAbility to adapt to the use of new software tools as they are acquired or adopted within IT\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nMust be self-motivated, a team player, and have a strong track record in customer satisfaction\nDemonstrated experience with successful system and project implementations\nExperience with Service Broker and BizTalk SQL Server integration\nFamiliarity with Mainframe flat file ingestion architecture and cross-platform data workflows\nFamiliarity with DB2 to SQL Server migration\nPreferred Knowledge and Experience\nKnowledge of Scripting and Automation\nKnowledge of Microsoft Azure RDBMS\nKnowledge of OLA Hallengren maintenance plans\nStrong problem-solving skills\nAbility to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision\nAbility to learn and apply new skills in a constantly changing technical
