This hands-on role will help with design and build new features to enhance our core clearing systems like Risk/Price applications and play active role in advancing our architecture to the next level.\nResponsibilities\nSystem Development:Design, develop, and implement new and existing systems\nAdvance Risk & Price & Associated Systems, supporting infrastructure to achieve business objectives\nActively participate in advancing Tech stack and reducing overall Tech Debt\n\nRequirements Translation:Collaborate with Product and Risk teams to transform business and functional requirements into robust technical solutions that meet performance and scalability standards. \n\nArchitecture & Integration:Architect APIs, database schemas, messaging layers, and integration solutions leveraging Java, Spring, and related frameworks to ensure seamless interoperability. \n\nSystem Modernization:Build a deep understanding of existing systems and processes to drive modernization and integration with current risk frameworks. \n\nQuality & Testing:Develop comprehensive unit tests and validation strategies to ensure accuracy and reliability of risk calculations and pricing models. \n\nProcess Improvement:Champion engineering best practices, continuous delivery principles, and modern development methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality. \n\nInnovation & Research:Stay current with emerging technologies, financial market trends, and risk management methodologies to inform strategic decisions and future architecture. \n\nKnowledge and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience. \n5+ years in Software Development using Java ecosystem \n3+ years’ experience working as hands-on Senior Developer/Engineer, or similar senior role at FinTech \nDeep experience in Microservices/SOA architecture and API First design \n3+ years developing large-scale enterprise applications using Java and frameworks like Spring \n3+ years in database development concepts (SQL, PL/SQL, views) \n1+ years in Spring Batch \nHands-on experience with messaging and caching technologies (JMS, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB) \nProven ability to deliver high-quality solutions on time in dynamic environments \nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills \nSelf-motivated and capable of working independently \nPreferred Knowledge and Experience\nExperience with portfolio margining, risk analytics, and valuation systems \nExperience working on Spring Batch, Enterprise Scheduling systems \nExperience building UI applications \nExpertise in developing microservices on container-based Kubernetes platforms (OpenShift, Tanzu) \nHand-on experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code / Cursor / GitHub Copilot) to support daily development work\nIntercontinental Exchange, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
