This role is responsible for building and validating test environments across our enterprise operating systems, server platforms, and containerized workloads, ensuring the integrity, performance, and efficiency of the infrastructure that supports end-to-end production deployments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder with a proven ability to design and implement automation while provisioning and managing test environments.\nResponsibilities\nBuild, configure, and maintain test environments across Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8/9/10), Windows Server (2019/2022/2025), and virtualized and containerized platforms.\nAuthor and maintain test automation and infrastructure provisioning using Python, Ansible, and Terraform, including reusable roles, modules, and CI-style test workflows.\nStand up and operate containerized and orchestrated test workloads using Docker or Podman and Kubernetes or OpenShift.\nPerform firmware, BIOS/BMC, and OS patching and lifecycle activities on enterprise server hardware, including out-of-band management via iDRAC and iLO.\nDevelop and maintain test plans, test cases, and documented methodologies; track and report results meticulously.\nExecute functional, integration, performance, and stress testing for backend infrastructure, analyzing results to identify variances and improvement areas.\nTroubleshoot issues encountered during testing using logs, telemetry, and systematic root-cause analysis.\nCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to refine testing processes and support development and proof-of-concept cycles.\nManage work through ServiceNow (incident and change) and Jira; stay current with platform roadmaps and testing practices.\nKnowledge and Experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.\nRelevant certifications (RHCSA/RHCE, Microsoft, or equivalent) are advantageous.\n5+ years administering Linux (RHEL preferred) and Windows Server, including patching and upgrades at scale.\n5+ years supporting standard enterprise server hardware (Dell, HPE, etc.), including firmware and hardware lifecycle, with iDRAC/iLO out-of-band management experience.\n2+ years of scripting and automation using Python and Ansible, with infrastructure-as-code experience in Terraform (Bash and PowerShell also valued).\nHands-on experience with container runtimes (Docker or Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes or OpenShift).\nExperience with VMware vSphere/ESXi virtualization.\nProven experience authoring test automation, integration testing, and performance/stress testing for backend infrastructure.\nExperience with benchmarking and performance tools such as Phoronix Test Suite, SysBench, SPECint, and fio (storage I/O).\nAbility to manage multiple small-scale projects and test cycles simultaneously.\nExperience with Jira and ServiceNow for work and change tracking.\nStrong analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy; excellent written and verbal communication.\nPreferred Skills\nExperience working within a compliance-gated, hardened fleet (patch baselines, controlled change).\nObservability and telemetry exposure (for example Splunk).\nExperience building CI/CD-style workflows for infrastructure or test automation.\nFamiliarity with GPU-optimized or AI/ML infrastructure testing (and associated benchmarking) where applicable.\nStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills;
