Part time positions start at a minimum of 30 hours per week.\nWe encourage you to become a part of VyStar Credit Union's family of employees.\nDesktop EngineerACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENTThe Desktop Engineer operates in the development, integration, testing, distribution and maintenance of endpoint management platforms, device standards, client applications, and operating system software for VyStar employees. This position uses practical experience and working knowledge of industry standard tools and methods to manage our fleet of endpoints in a diverse environment including Microsoft Windows, MAC OS, IOS, Linux and virtual environments. This position will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the corporate standard system image, Windows Autopilot profiles and other standard configurations that promote optimum usage of enterprise software while maximizing productivity and satisfaction. The engineer will build and maintain knowledge base content based on the ITIL and Agile framework. The engineer will act as escalation support for the Information Technology Technicians and Service Desk with advanced technical issues, hardware and software evaluations and operational tasks\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\nManages VyStar’s Intune environment.\n\nCreates and maintains standard desktop configurations and assists with the creation of automated software packages to ensure the enterprise desktop systems can be supported and patched.\n\nMaintains the control and process environment for the organization’s gold standard operating system image library ensuring client configuration integrity, controlled access and incremental versioning.\n\nPerforms administration of software distribution, application and security patch management, desktop security, remote support and other enterprise desktop management, monitoring and troubleshooting utilities.\n\nDocuments and maintain desktop security standard configurations that support organizational security policies.\n\nCreates technical documentation as required.\n\nLeads tactical projects and creates and maintains project plans.\n\nAnalyzes problems and recommends hardware and software solutions as needed to address an issue or to support projects and VyStar initiatives. Seeks appropriate authority and approval for purchases.\n\nSupports the client system testing environment for evaluating desktop hardware, operating systems, hosted applications, service packs and patches, security configurations and image deployment. Schedules and reports on the execution of the testing and validation effort as part of a formal release management process.\n\nPerforms system administration of the enterprise desktop asset management software tools.\n\nCollaborates with the Service Desk and Client Technology Services Teams in the documentation and implementation of the processes and procedures for software and hardware asset information for the enterprise desktop environment. This inventory provides management with an accurate inventory of hardware, operating systems and respective licensing, applications and respective licenses.\n\nDevelops reports that provide insight and analysis of desktop software license usage, software and hardware compliance, operating systems and hosted application software distribution.\n\nAdministers and maintains the System Center Configuration Manager environment.\n\nPrepares, tests and releases software application and security updates to production using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).\n\nMaintains current knowledge of solutions available to perform software distribution, inventory, monitoring, updates and ongoing maintenance for the organization’s client system environment.\n\nServes as escalation support for all desktop related issues supporting the organization’s incident and problem management escalation processes and practices.\n\nTroubleshoots and resolves client hardware and software related issues in coordination with other members of the IT Technology groups and users.\n\nPerforms quality assurance testing of software installation packages, application configurations, system images and configuration performance using manual and automated tools.\n\nStays abreast of current and emerging client computing hardware and software trends and management techniques through self-study, training programs or other education opportunities.\n\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\nAll employees and business units, as first line of defense, are expected to proactively help identify, assess, manage, and report risks within their domain of work. Verify necessary follow-up actions.\n\nJOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES\nRequired:\nFour or more years’ IT engineering experience working in an enterprise environment including the following: developing, testing, implementing and maintaining computer systems and imaging, packaging and deployment solution(s); Managing, deploying and supporting Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Applications. Direct experience with System Center Configuration Manager, Active Directory and Group Policy.\nSoftware Packaging, image management and deployment, directory-based management tools and concepts.\nPreferred:\nExperience with Microsoft Windows security, user rights, and Active Directory objects. Advanced knowledge and understanding of the following technologies: networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS), and desktop operating system virtualization and/or application virtualization.\nEDUCATION\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience is required\n\nIncumbent will be expected to continue their education and training through self-study.
