If you love people, love details, and love having real ownership over something that matters, keep reading.\nWhat You'll Own\nPeople Operations - The full employee lifecycle: onboarding, policies, compliance, benefits coordination, and day-to-day employee experience.\nHRBP - HR expertise directly within all business units to align people strategy - hiring, org design, performance, retention.\nWorkplace - Office space decisions, vendor relationships, and creating an environment people genuinely want to come into.\nCulture - Programming, rituals, and moments that make interface.ai SF feel like a real community.\nResponsibilities\nBuild and run a best-in-class onboarding experience that makes every new hire feel set up, welcomed, and genuinely excited from Day 1\n\nOwn HR operations end-to-end in the US: offer letters, policies, employee records, benefits administration, and compliance across federal and California regulations\n\nLead office space strategy - evaluate, negotiate, and manage our SF workspace as we scale, including vendor and facilities relationships\n\nCreate and maintain workplace programs, team events, and cultural touchpoints that bring our values to life in-person\n\nPartner with the Head of People on talent and people strategy as we grow from 125 to 200+ globally\n\nBe the go-to resource for employees navigating day-to-day questions around benefits, workplace needs, and HR topics\n\nBuild scalable systems and processes from scratch - you'll be the first US HR Ops hire, so this is a blank canvas\n\nServe as the heartbeat of the SF office; you'll know everyone by name, notice what's working (and what isn't), and take action\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n7+ years of experience in People Operations, HRBP, and Office Management - ideally in a high-growth tech startup environment\n\nWorking knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance; you don't need to be a lawyer, but you need to know when to call one\n\nExperience owning or co-owning an office space - vendor management, space planning, facilities decision-making\n\nExceptional organizational skills paired with the flexibility to pivot when the day goes sideways (and it will)\n\nStrong communicator - warm and approachable with employees, professional and precise with stakeholders\n\nA builder mentality: you see gaps and fill them, you see inefficiencies and fix them, and you don't wait to be asked\n\nGenuine enthusiasm for culture - you think about what makes a workplace special and take that seriously\n\nComfort operating with autonomy in an ambiguous environment; you have strong instincts and the confidence to act on them\n\nBonus Points\nExperience scaling a team through a hyper-growth period (doubling or tripling headcount)\n\nBackground in setting up HR infrastructure from the ground up at a startup\n\nFamiliarity with HR and ATS platforms (Rippling, Greenhouse, Lattice, Ashby or similar)\n\nA Note on the In-Office Requirement\nThis role is in-office, five days a week in San Francisco.
