Building on more than 30 years of sustainability progress and industry-first innovation, we remain ‘all in’ on our goal of becoming carbon negative by 2040, without the use of offsets.\nPosition summary:\nThe Setup Technician is responsible for changeovers of creels and tufting machines, as well as loading and unloading creels to service creels and tufting machines, efficiently and in accordance with the specification sheets to ensure\nminimum downtime.\nEducational requirements:\n High school diploma or GED required\n\nSkills and experience:\nIntermediate math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals and percentages required\n\nGood communication skills, verbal and written\n\nPrevious tufting experience preferred\n\nPrevious textile experience preferred\n\nMust have normal color vision or average to above average shade discernment\n\nInterface White Belt and 6S training preferred\n\nEssential duties:\nLocate paperwork and master for next run and place at machine\n\nCheck next creel set for correct thread-up and stage at Tufting machines\n\nCut out creels set and burn in new set\n\nRun burns through needles and check for misdraws\n\nRecord changeover time on production report\n\nOperate Tufting machines\n\nRelieve Operators for breaks\n\nLoad and unload all creels to the proper thread up\n\nRecognize quality problems and make corrections when operating Tufting machine\n\nDeposit all yarn and headers scrap into specific containers to be recycled\n\nMaximize recycling of all recyclable materials and minimize waste\n\nMaintain a daily log of production\n\nMaintain housekeeping\n\nComply with safety rules\n\nComply with environmental regulations\n\nBe aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)\n\nEnsure ISO procedures are followed.\n\nUnderstand and support Interface commitment to sustainability.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned\n\n.\nPhysical demands:\nWalking up and down stairs\n\nConsiderable standing\n\nContinuous lifting of up to 15 lbs\n\nOccasional lifting of up to 25lbs\n\nWork environment:\nNon climate-controlled factory environment\n\nLearn more about Interface (NASDAQ: TILE) and our brands at interface.com and FLOR.com.
