This role is well suited to someone who enjoys bringing clarity to complex domains and creating formal models that enable people, data, and systems to work from a shared understanding.\nResponsibilities\nDefine domain concepts, entities, categories, attributes, and relationships in formal ontologies.\nStandardize vocabularies to establish shared business or scientific meaning across systems and departments.\nBuild and maintain machine-readable knowledge models using OWL, RDF, SPARQL, and SHACL.\nProvide structured context and guardrails for enterprise AI, knowledge graphs, Graph RAG, and LLM applications to improve reasoning, reduce hallucinations, and integrate heterogeneous data.\nRequirements\nDegree in computer science, information technology, cyber, mathematics, or a related field.\nExperience designing enterprise ontologies and controlled vocabularies, including hands-on work building upper ontology frameworks or domain-specific ontology frameworks.\nExperience building AI systems from scratch and helping shape prototype applications.\nProficiency with OWL, RDF, SPARQL, and SHACL standards.\nKnowledge of knowledge graphs, Graph RAG, and LLM applications.\nExperience collaborating with enterprise data or AI teams and translating ontology decisions for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nU.S. citizenship and eligibility to work in the United States are required.\nExperience working with government customers is a plus.\nAn active security clearance is a plus.\nBenefits\nThe likely salary range for this position is $129,813 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.\nAs part of the hiring process, we will ask you to complete an identity verification process to ensure authenticity and protect against identity fraud.
