This role provides hands-on leadership, guiding warehouse personnel, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring all warehouse activities meet company safety, quality, and operational standards. The Lead Warehouse Technician acts as a key support to the Warehouse Manager and assumes leadership responsibilities in their absence.\nEssential Responsibilities\nWarehouse Operations & Oversight\nOversee daily warehouse operations and personnel, ensuring workflow efficiency and task accuracy.\n\nLead warehouse staff in the absence of the Warehouse Manager, maintaining productivity and adherence to operational priorities.\n\nAssign and distribute picking tickets across warehouse teams to organize workflow and ensure timely completion.\n\nCreate and print pallet tags for dispatch orders and verify outbound paperwork against physical counts and load sheets.\n\nAudit outbound orders for completeness and accuracy prior to loading or shipment.\n\nLoad, unload, and stage materials including tile, stone, mosaics, wall veneers, carpet, and waterproof flooring.\n\nHandle and protect fragile or high-value materials using appropriate bracing, strapping, and padding techniques.\n\nEnsure warehouse areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with company safety policies and OSHA standards.\n\nInventory & Documentation\nMaintain accurate inventory of all materials, including installation supplies and accessories.\n\nConduct routine inventory checks and cycle counts to ensure data integrity and resolve discrepancies.\n\nSupport incoming and outgoing shipment verification, ensuring correct documentation and labeling.\n\nCollaborate with purchasing, inventory control, and shipping departments to manage material flow and maintain proper stock levels.\n\nTeam Leadership & Training\nProvide direction, training, and support to warehouse team members, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and efficiency.\n\nServe as a mentor to new warehouse staff, demonstrating best practices in material handling and equipment operation.\n\nEncourage teamwork and continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements to improve productivity and reduce waste.\n\nEquipment Operation & Safety\nSafely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.\n\nEnsure all warehouse personnel follow company safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and PPE usage.\n\nReport equipment issues and coordinate maintenance to prevent downtime.\n\nCustomer & Vendor Support\nAssist customers, installers, and vendors with material pickups and supply fulfillment as needed.\n\nCollaborate with drivers and logistics staff to ensure timely and accurate material deliveries.\n\nProvide courteous and professional communication when handling customer or vendor interactions.\n\nOther Duties as Assigned\nPerform additional tasks or participate in special projects as directed by leadership to support overall warehouse operations.\n\nEducation & Experience\nRequired:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\n3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or material handling.\n\nProven ability to lead or coordinate a team in a fast-paced distribution environment.\n\nPreferred:\nPrior experience in flooring, tile, or interior finishes warehouse operations.\n\nForklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.\n\nExperience working with construction materials or homebuilding supply distribution.\n\nSkills & Competencies\nLeadership: Strong ability to guide, motivate, and support warehouse personnel.\n\nOrganization: Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.\n\nCommunication: Professional and clear communication with customers, vendors, and internal teams.\n\nTechnology: Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with mobile devices or warehouse management systems.\n\nProblem Solving: Strong judgment and decision-making abilities in resolving operational challenges.\n\nSafety Awareness: Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.\n\nStanding, bending, and walking for extended periods throughout the workday.\n\nWork in
