Check out this video and learn more and discover the “Power of We.”\nAs an Echo/VascularTechnician at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:\nEssential Functions\nCompetency; Must demonstrate technical competence for performance protocols specific to the department.\nPrioritize and schedule exams. Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.\nPrepare for the exam by following patient identification processes, educating patient and family on procedure, and transporting the patient. Perform ultrasound exams consistent with related protocols and in a timely manner. Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.\nThroughout the exam, identify patient needs and appropriately communicate and coordinate patient care with physicians, other caregivers, patient, and family.\nAfter the exam, return patient to room and ensure patient stability and safety.\nMentor caregivers and students on basic equipment use and procedural technique.\nAppropriately document exam results and other needed information. Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies.\nClean and maintain equipment, work area, and stock supplies. Follow appropriate channels to coordinate repair or supply needs.\nSupport team and quality improvement processes and initiatives.\nParticipate in educational opportunities to ensure clinical competence and develop additional skills and knowledge. Degree will be verified.\n1+ year of experience\nMinimum Qualifications Echo Vascular Technician II\nARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.\nBasic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.\nMust achieve each of the following areas:\nMust meet all Echo/Vascular Technologist I qualifications\nCertification/Registry\nObtain any two of the national registry credential(s) through ARDMS, CCI, or ACS as applicable to the department:\nVascular technology\nRPHS (Registered Phlebology Sonographer)\nTCD (Transcranial Doppler)\nAdult Echo\nAdult Congenital Echo\n\nAdvanced Cardiac Sonographer\nObtain a minimum of one registry with the following years of service:\n≥10 + echocardiography experience\n≥5+ echocardiography experience + Associates Degree\nCompetency (participate in either of the following)\nMust complete a minimum of 1500 studies as related to credentials\nMust have documented Echo Medical Director review of a minimum of 5 studies in addition to a supervisory skills pass off of a minimum of 20 studies. (Must use IMH health approved form)\nFormal written recommendation by each of the following:Echo/Vascular Manager\nCardiovascular Director\nCV Imaging Medical Director\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.\nPhysical Requirements\nOngoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.\nFrequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.\nManual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.\nExpected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.\nNeed to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
