This position is also responsible for answering phones and directing calls as necessary.What We’re Looking For:\nThis is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a healthcare setting. Previous healthcare experience is helpful but not required. We’re looking for someone with strong customer service and communication skills, attention to detail, good computer and typing skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment. Previous experience in customer service, reception, scheduling, registration, or a medical office setting is preferred but not required. Because this is a PRN position with varying shift times, candidates with flexibility to work a variety of shifts and start times are preferred.\nPosting Details\n Shift Details: PRN, Rotating 5-hour and 10-hour shifts, 7 days/week\nMonday - Friday: 10-hr start times - 5:30a, 6:30a, 7:30a, 8:30a, or 9:30a; 5-hr start times - 10:30a, 11:30a, 12:30p, 1:30p, or 3:30p\nSaturday: 10-hour start times - 6:30a or 10:30a; 5-hour start time 8:30a\nSunday: 10-hour start time 6:30a; 5-hour start time 3:30p (10-hour shifts may occasionally be split into two 5-hour shifts based on staffing needs.)\nUnit/Location: Imaging Administration at Utah Valley Hospital / Pederson Tower and UVOC Buildings.\nAdditional Details: Minimal weekend rotation, typically every few months, plus one major and one minor holiday per year.\nEssential Functions\nSchedules patients for examination and gives instructions regarding exam preparation.\nCoordinates emergency and add-on examinations with technical staff and radiologists.\nPrioritizes patient examinations and coordinates multiple examinations with other areas.\nProvides information concerning examination content, pre-examination instructions, and timetables.\nActs as a liaison between physician offices and department concerning needed preps, medical necessity, information, and problems.\nAnswers calls that come into the department and routes them to appropriate personnel.\nSkills\nAnswering Telephones\nDirecting Calls\nCustomer Service\nScheduling\nData Entry\nPhysician Offices\nMedical Terminology\nPrioritization\nRadiology\nWorkforce Planning\nQualifications\nExperience using computers in an office setting or doing data entry. - and -\nDemonstrated customer service experience\nMedical terminology or training (preferred)\nExperience in a Radiology setting (preferred)\nBilingual (preferred)\nPhysical Requirements\nOngoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.\nFrequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.\nManual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.\nExpected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.\nNeed to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
