includes steam generation, refrigeration, compressed air, water treatment, wastewater treatment, power distribution, CO₂ systems, and other auxiliary services required for brewing, packaging, and facility operations.\nThe role ensures utilities are available at the required quality, quantity, and cost while driving continuous improvement in energy, water, and environmental performance.\nThe key purpose of the Utilities Team Leader is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all utility systems supporting brewery production.\n\nKey Roles and Responsibilities\n\nUtility Operations Management:\n\nLead and coordinate the operation of all brewery utility plants and equipment.\nEnsure uninterrupted supply of steam, chilled water, compressed air, electricity, treated water, and CO₂.\nDevelop and implement operating procedures and work instructions.\nMonitor utility performance and take corrective actions to prevent downtime.\n\nTeam Leadership:\n\nConduct performance reviews and competency assessments.\nPlan shifts, allocate tasks, and monitor team performance.\nSupervise utilities operators, technicians, and contractors.\nCoach and develop team members through training and mentoring.\n\nMaintenance Coordination:\n\nWork closely with maintenance planners and production teams.\nEnsure utility equipment reliability and availability.\nParticipate in shutdown planning and execution.\nCoordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.\n\nEnergy and Water Efficiency:\n\nMonitor consumption of electricity, fuel, water, compressed air, and refrigeration energy.\nTrack utility Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as kWh/hl beer produced Water-to-beer ratio Steam consumption Compressed air efficiency CO₂ recovery efficiency\nIdentify and implement energy-saving and water conservation initiatives.\nLead continuous improvement projects to reduce operating costs.\n\nSafety, Health and Environment (SHE):\n\nConduct risk assessments and safety inspections.\nEnsure environmental compliance related to emissions, wastewater, and energy use.\nLead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.\nPromote a strong safety culture within the utilities team.\nEnsure compliance with brewery safety standards and regulations.\n\nWater and Wastewater Management:\n\nManage wastewater treatment plant operations.\nEnsure compliance with discharge limits and environmental permits.\nMonitor chemical dosing and treatment processes.\nOversee raw water treatment and process water quality.\n\nPerformance Monitoring and Reporting:\n\nRecommend capital improvements and equipment upgrades.\nPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.\nManage utility budgets and control operational costs.\nAnalyze utility plant performance data and trends.\n\nContinuous Improvement:\n\nApply Lean, VPO (Voyager Plant Optimization), and continuous improvement methodologies.\nDrive digitalization and automation opportunities within utility operations.\nLead root cause analysis (RCA) for utility failures and inefficiencies.\nSupport brewery sustainability and decarbonization initiatives.\n\nMinimum Requirements\n\n5-10 years of engineering or utilities experience in a brewery, beverage, food processing, FMCG, or manufacturing environment.\nBachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering.\nExperience operating: Boilers and steam systems, Refrigeration plants (ammonia or glycol systems), Air compressors, Water treatment plants, Wastewater treatment plants, and Electrical distribution systems.\n\nKey Attributes and Competencies\n\nTechnical Skills:\n\nPLC and automation systems\nReliability engineering\nRoot
