Purpose of the Role\n1.1. To receive and disburse money for sales transactions.\n1.2. To reconcile transactions and receipts with stock levels.\n2. Key Responsibilities\n2.1. Cash Register Preparation\n\nCalculate the money available in the cash register.\nEnsure the cash register has adequate change.\nEnsure the scanner is working properly and that all items have barcodes.\nEnsure proper maintenance of cash register according to company policy on asset management.\n2.2. Transaction and Payment ProcessingReceive payments of cash, credit cards or vouchers.\nIssue receipts, refunds, credit or change for purchases.\nKeep accurate record of daily opening and closing cash balances.\nFollow all organisational policies and procedures regarding the handling of cash.\n2.3. Customer ServiceAnswer customer queries relating to costs, sales, purchases or returns.\n2.4. Stacking, Displaying and PackagingStock shelves.\nEnsure all items have correct prices displayed on them.\nKeep displays organised and clean.\nPackage breakable goods appropriately.\n2.5. Stock TakingMonitor stock levels and place requisitions for new stock when stock levels have reached the appropriatelevel.\nReconcile sales with stock levels; investigate and report any discrepancies.\nDo regular counts of all stock items and report any shortfalls or discrepancies.\n 2.6. Health and Safety ComplianceWithin the area of responsibility, ensure the kiosk and its operations comply with all relevant health, safety and environmental requirements.\nEnsure that hygiene standards are maintained in accordance with SoP’s.\nEnsure that housekeeping is done properly (i.e. within area of responsibility that the working surfaces, products and equipment are properly washed and sanitised).\n2.7. Effective Teamwork and Self-ManagementTake ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning and prioritising, and self-development.\nFollow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.\nInform relevant parties in the event of tasks or deadlines not met, the potential risks thereof and provide appropriate resolution.\nManage colleagues’ expectations and communicate appropriately.\nDemonstrate willingness to help others and “go the extra mile” to meet team targets and objectives.\nKNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCEWhat skills, knowledge,and/or attributes arenecessary to performthe role?\n1.
