In addition to the machines, the mill includes multiple process lines, including wood handling, pulping and OCC, power and recovery, and effluent treatment. The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor leads a general mechanic crew of approximately ten (10) hourly team members supporting Riverdale Mill’s paper machines, and works in partnership with the area Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the reliable operation of the area equipment. This position reports to the Business Unit Area Maintenance Manager (AMM).\nThe Job You Will Perform:\nLead and direct the general mechanic team in a goal-oriented environment to deliver results in the areas of safety, engagement, and reliability excellence.\nManage team compliance with company and mill policies, procedures, and other requirements.\nApprove pay and vacation scheduling for the team, and complete other administrative tasks consistent with the requirements of the labor agreement and mill/company policy.\nResponsible for team’s time and attendance, performance, and record keeping\nConduct 1:1s with employees to provide and receive guidance and development feedback.\nIdentify individual and organizational training needs and implement training plans (hard and soft skills).\nContinually assess training needs of crew members in order to provide learning opportunities\nCoordinate with operations to prioritize and schedule maintenance activities.\nCoordinate with AMM and with other areas of the mill to share maintenance resources when necessary to accomplish maintenance tasks mill wide.\nCoordinate with area Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to jointly resource tasks and solve problems across maintenance disciplines.\nRespond appropriately to off-shift, off-day and maintenance shift problems\nCommunicate appropriately to ensure operations is knowledgeable of maintenance activities through the daily and weekly planning meetings.\nTroubleshoot equipment issues and support identification and implementation of solutions.\nServe as contractor coordinator for vendor or contractor resources when necessary.\nServe as a key member of the MWS team, fulfilling positional responsibilities within the MWS process.\nComplete responsibilities in alignment with IP reliability systems (RCFA, PM/PdM, Precision Maintenance, etc.)\nImprove existing or implement new work systems as necessary to ensure the sustainability of progress/positive results.\nImplement and sustain 5S in designated areas.\nServe on a weekend duty team for the Maintenance department.\nThe Skills You Will Bring:\nB.S. degree in engineering or related field, or comparable work experience\n\n3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing, preferably in mechanical maintenance and/or paper industry operations (maintenance experience in a Pulp & Paper facility is desired)\n\nPrevious supervisory experience required\n\nCompletion of the IP Front Line Leader modules or other leadership development preferred\n\nAbility to manage and lead multiple
