The Engineering organization is responsible for translating development concepts into technically viable, financeable, and constructible projects. The team partners closely with Development, Construction, Operations, and Project Finance to manage technical risk, optimize system performance, and deliver high-quality assets. Joining Engineering means applying deep technical expertise in a collaborative environment where precision, accountability, and continuous improvement drive long-term impact.Development, Permitting, Construction, Finance, Operations, and external EPCs, utilities, and consultants.\nWhat You’ll Do\nInterconnection Strategy and Execution\nLead end-to-end generator and large load interconnection processes from early development through COD, with accountability for schedule, risk, and outcomes.\n\nDevelop and execute short-, mid-, and long-term interconnection strategies aligned with the company’s development and investment roadmap.\n\nIdentify and evaluate interconnection options, constraints, and mitigation strategies to support project siting and portfolio optimization.\n\nUtility, ISO, and Stakeholder Engagement\nServe as the primary point of contact with utilities, ERCOT, and relevant stakeholders on all interconnection-related matters.\n\nBuild and maintain strong working relationships with transmission owners, system operators, and regulatory bodies to advance project objectives.\n\nActively participate in transmission planning meetings, stakeholder forums, task forces, and working groups, providing timely insights to internal teams.\n\nTechnical Oversight and Studies\nReview and interpret interconnection study results, including feasibility, system impact, and facilities studies.\n\nIndependently replicate study findings, identify errors, assess sensitivities, and develop alternative mitigation solutions where appropriate.\n\nCollaborate with internal engineering teams and external consultants on IBR modeling, transmission planning, and study execution.\n\nCross-Functional Leadership\nSupport Origination, Development, Engineering, Construction, and Project Finance teams with interconnection expertise throughout the project lifecycle.\n\nTranslate complex technical and regulatory issues into clear, actionable guidance for internal and external stakeholders.\n\nDevelop and maintain internal tools, processes, and reporting to track interconnection status, risks, and decision points across the portfolio.\n\nMarket and Regulatory Insight\nMonitor interconnection reforms, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies impacting interconnection policy and execution.\n\nProactively assess implications of market rule changes and transmission planning initiatives on the company’s assets and strategy.\n\nAdvocate for the company’s interests in industry forums and regulatory processes.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\n7+ years of experience with an IPP, project developer, ISO/RTO, utility, or power systems consulting firm.\n\nDemonstrated experience with interconnection studies, transmission planning, and IBR modeling, particularly in ERCOT.\n\nStrong working knowledge of FERC, NERC, and ISO/RTO interconnection requirements, standards, and processes.\n\nHands-on experience with at least one, and preferably several, of the following tools: PSLF, PowerWorld, PSSE, PSCAD, TARA, and ASPEN.\n\nDirect experience with transmission and distribution interconnection tariffs, procedures, and studies in key markets, specifically ERCOT.\n\nExperience supporting large load interconnections and non-traditional interconnection use cases.\n\nProven ability to lead complex technical processes while managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences.\n\nA self-directed work style and sound judgment in ambiguous, fast-evolving environments.\n\nActive participation or leadership in industry working groups or task forces.\n\nMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline preferred;
