Join us!\nPurpose of Job:\nThe Customer Supply Chain Planner is responsible for managing inventory for assigned National Account locations. Aligned with Interstate Batteries’ product and assortment strategy, this role helps drive sales growth and a positive customer experience by optimizing inventory levels and maintaining high stock availability. The Planner serves as a key link between the external customer, account teams, and category management, turning sales, inventory, and trend data into actionable replenishment and forecasting decisions.\nJob Components:\nManage inventory for assigned National Account locations, optimizing inventory levels and maintaining high in-stock availability in alignment with product and assortment strategy\nEnsure timely execution of replenishment ordering based on established order frequency, monitoring order accuracy and fill rates\nReview and address system alerts and analyze replenishment exceptions, including capacity constraints, store-level out-of-stocks, and overstocks; identify root causes and drive corrective actions\nEvaluate and analyze changing trends, sales history, and inventory positions to develop insights for forecasting and recommend adjustments to demand and replenishment plans\nCollaborate with the external customer, account teams, and category management on seasonal changes, product lifecycle transitions (new item introductions and phase-outs), new store openings, and other assortment changes\nDevelop and maintain accurate store/SKU master data in the system, including item, location, and replenishment parameters (e.g., min/max, safety stock, lead times, order cycles)\nDevelop summaries and report on key metrics (e.g., in-stock rate, inventory turns, weeks of supply, forecast accuracy, fill rate) for both internal and external audiences\nSupport the implementation of automated order replenishment, monitoring performance, evaluating issues, and recommending adjustments as the process is rolled out.\nExecute inventory replenishment across additional National Account locations as the VMI program expands.\nPerform ad-hoc analysis and support process improvement initiatives as needed\nQualifications:\n3+ years of experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, replenishment, or demand planning; retail or vendor-managed inventory (VMI) experience preferred\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field\nEffective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external customers\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail\nExcellent decision-making skills coupled with the ability to make informed choices based on data and analytics.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines under minimal supervision.\nAbility to manage inventory across multiple customer accounts and locations.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel; experience with ERP/inventory planning systems a plus\nExperience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)\nScope Data:\nAccountable for customer inventory investment for assigned National Account locations, balancing in-stock availability against inventory levels and working capital\nDirect relationship management with internal (account teams, category management, S&OP, distribution/logistics) and external (customer replenishment and buying teams) stakeholders\nExecutes replenishment orders with minimal supervision, adjusting orders within established parameters and escalating exceptions outside tolerance to the S&OP Manager.\nOwns inventory performance metrics for assigned accounts, including in-stock rate, weeks of supply, inventory turns, and forecast accuracy\nWork Environment:\nAbility to use a computer for prolonged periods of time. \nAbility to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time. \nRegularly required to use hands to grasp or handle and talk and hear. \nSpecific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. \nNote: We do not accept resumes from headhunters, placement agencies, or other suppliers that have not signed a formal agreement with us.\nInterstate Batteries provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
