Join us!\nPurpose of Job:\nThe Route Supervisor will manage, train, and develop RSMs (Route Service Manager) and other drivers to service and aggressively expand sales on an assigned set of customers along all routes.\nJob Components:\nManage, train and develop RSMs and other drivers\n\nCollaborate with Market General Manager to set goals for RSMs and ensure the team is meeting the goals.\n\nGenerate and distribute daily and weekly reports for RSMs and other drivers to utilize on routes.\n\nTrain all RSMs and other drivers on policies and procedures including proper paperwork for opening and closing accounts.\n\nMaintain knowledge of the operation’s overall financial results and how the drivers are impacting the results.\n\nEnsure all drivers are compliant with all DOT and safety rules and regulations.\n\nTeam up with the site Manager to ensure that vehicle fleet is maintained and serviced timely and properly.\n\nMaintain contact with dealers in order to obtain feedback on the quality of service being provided.\n\nFill in on route or hot shot as needed.\n\nHelp load, unload, and count trucks as needed.\n\nRide along with different drivers during the week to evaluate training needs and to provide feedback to strategize how to improve; Provides recognition for successes.\n\nEncourage and train drivers on how to look for new ways to generate GP at every stop.\n\nCreate/maintain a culture of shared ideas, open communication, and a positive, strategical, and motivational attitude within the team.\n\nFollow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager.\n\nMust have current, valid state driver’s license.\n\nAbility to operate motor vehicles.\n\nOther duties as assigned\n\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalent\n\nMinimum of 2 years demonstrated sales, customer service and delivery experience\n\nPrior sales management experience preferred\n\nStrong customer service skills\n\nAbility to read, write and compute basic math\n\nStrong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills\n\nStrong organization and time management skills and able to work under pressure\n\nWorking knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing and distribution methods\n\nUnderstanding of state, federal and interstate commerce regulations\n\nWorking knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required\n\nStrong training and coaching skills\n\nAbility to operate a motor vehicle and/or forklift\n\nMust have a clean drivers record AND meet driver qualifications requirements\n\nScope Data:\nUses frequent independent judgment when making decisions.\n\nManages team of 2 or more drivers.\n\nAccountable for sales growth within the distributorship.\n\nOperate with integrity and demonstrate a positive attitude.\n\nWork Environment:\nConsistent sitting, standing and walking\n\nSpecific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.\n\nBe able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs\n\nUse of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required\n\nExposed to battery warehouse conditions, such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals\n\nExposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle\n\nNote: We do not accept resumes from headhunters, placement agencies, or other suppliers that have not signed a formal agreement with us.\nInterstate Batteries provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
