Join us!\nPurpose of Job:\nThe Sales Associate provides fast and friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. This role maintains the condition of the sales floor, ensuring that it is clean and shoppable. They will also make deliveries and test/install car batteries.\nJob Components:\nProvide exceptional, friendly customer service in a fast-paced retail environment \nGreet every customer with a positive attitude & smile \nEngage customers to understand their needs using open-ended questions \nMaintain strong product knowledge to confidently assist and advise customers \nPromote special offers, and current sales to enhance the customer experience \nExplain product features and benefits in a clear and helpful way \nDrive sales by recommending “good, better, best” options and related add-on items \nMeet or exceed individual sales goals and performance expectations \nAccurately process transactions and handle cash and card payments via a Point of Sale System \nAssist with inventory tasks, including receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise \nKeep the store clean, well-stocked, and easy to shop \nPerform basic battery testing and installation, including automotive batteries \nComplete local deliveries using a company vehicle, as needed \nFollow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager\nTeam-oriented environment with individual performance expectations \nQualifications:\nAt least 18 years of age \nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred \nPrevious retail or customer service experience (preferred but not required) \nPrevious delivery driving experience is preferred \nMust have a clean drivers record AND meet driver qualifications requirements \nStrong communication and interpersonal skills \nAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays \nBasic math skills and comfort handling cash transactions \nAbility to successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background check \nScope Data:\nInteracts professionally with fellow Team Members \nOperate with integrity and demonstrate a positive attitude\nWork Environment:\nPosition requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and lifting. \nBe able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs \nWork involves some irregularities and difficulties with repetitive and varied tasks. \nPrimarily retail store setting, however, frequently exposed to dirt, dust, fumes, temperature extremes, dampness and battery acid as is normal to warehouse environment in this business \nStress associated with workplace pressure and the retail environment. \nExposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle\nNote: We do not accept resumes from headhunters, placement agencies, or other suppliers that have not signed a formal agreement with us.\nInterstate Batteries provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
