It connects people, suppliers, materials, and manufacturing projects-and helps our teams deliver exceptional results for our clients.\nAs the Supply Chain Manager - Manufacturing, you’ll lead supply chain strategy for a manufacturing offer category while developing a strong, capable team. You’ll influence supplier performance, inventory planning, forecasting, sourcing, cost management, and project execution. Your decisions will have a direct impact on material availability, delivery reliability, team performance, and client satisfaction.\nIf you’re a strategic thinker who enjoys developing people, strengthening supplier partnerships, and turning complex supply chain challenges into practical solutions, we’d like to meet you.\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead and Develop the Team\nSet direction for your assigned Supply Chain Offer Category Team.\nProvide leadership, coaching, and development to help team members achieve individual, team, and company goals.\nCoordinate onboarding for new team members.\nConduct talent card and performance reviews.\nEstablish clear expectations and promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\nDrive Supply Chain Performance\nPartner with offer category leaders, project managers, estimators, field leaders, and other internal teams.\nSupport inventory optimization, material availability, and efficient material flow.\nUse forecasting and MRP processes to translate demand into supply and material requirements.\nMonitor supplier performance, spend, pricing, delivery, and quality.\nStrategically direct spend to supplier partners to improve value and business results.\nAssist with contract negotiations, including pricing, schedules, and other commercial terms.\nOversee the offer category budget with support from the Director of Supply Chain.\nIdentify and evaluate suppliers that align with Interstates’ values, culture, and business needs.\nBuild ethical, productive relationships with internal and external partners.\nAttend supplier and industry conferences to expand market knowledge and identify new opportunities.\nMaintain confidentiality regarding projects, suppliers, business plans, and internal information.\nCommunicate clearly and adapt effectively as priorities and business needs change.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nIn this role, success means you:\nBuild trust with the offer category team and key supplier partners.\nImprove visibility into inventory, demand, and material requirements.\nStrengthen supplier performance, delivery reliability, and cost effectiveness.\nDevelop team members and create a culture of accountability and growth.\nHelp ensure materials and supply chain deliverables support project and client commitments.\nIdentify practical improvements that make Interstates’ supply chain more effective and responsive.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n2-3 years of related experience and/or training.\nExperience with inventory management, including inventory levels, availability, and material flow.\nExperience with MRP-Material Requirements Planning-processes and systems.\nExperience with forecasting and translating demand into supply and material requirements.\nStrong analytical, quantitative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to read and understand instructions, emails, specifications, and contracts.\nSound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize effectively.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating successfully with others.\nStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.\nAbility to maintain a high level of confidentiality.\nWillingness to travel approximately 30%, with additional travel as business needs require.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in manufacturing, construction, engineering, industrial services, or a related environment.\nExperience with strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier relationship management.\nExperience negotiating supplier contracts or commercial terms.\nExperience leading, coaching, or developing team members.\nExperience with ERP, procurement, supply chain analytics, or related business systems.\nExperience using data to improve cost, quality, delivery, or supplier performance.\nCompensation\nThe base pay range for this position is $90,000-$110,000. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, as well as the level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents what Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of posting. Final pay is determined by job-related skills, training, education, and experience.\nLocation: This position can be based in our Sioux Center, IA; Omaha, NE; or Sioux Falls, SD office.\nTravel\nThis role requires approximately 30% travel.
