You will work across the full product lifecycle, from early concepts and prototyping to manufacturing and industrialization, ensuring that every component meets performance, reliability, and cost objectives. This role requires strong ownership, curiosity, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.\nResponsibilities\nLead mechanical design from concept to production, balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability\nDevelop 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings using Onshape or equivalent software\nCollaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers to ensure integration and serviceability\nManage large assemblies and ensure configuration control across design revisions\nSupport prototyping, testing, and validation activities to verify design performance\nOptimize designs for industrialization and coordinate with manufacturing partners\nEnsure compliance with design standards, reliability criteria, and DFM best practices\nParticipate in design reviews and provide technical guidance within the engineering team\nProfile / Qualifications\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent\n6+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and manufacturing\nExpertise in CAD design (Onshape, SolidWorks, or CATIA) and large assembly management\nSolid understanding of materials, mechanical analysis, and industrial processes\nExperience with product testing, validation, and design for manufacturability\nComfortable with hands-on prototyping and integration in workshop environments\nStrong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills\nFluent in English, proficiency in French is a plus\nEqual Opportunity\nInterstellar Lab is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
