ITC is a rapidly growing and evolving family-owned and operated business and we need you to join our growing family and client list!\n Position Title: Travel A/V Installation Technician\nDepartment: Operations\nLocation: Charlotte, NC (with up to 25-50% regional and national travel)\nPay Scale: $20-$28/hour\nJob Type: Full-Time, Hourly\nReports To: Project Manager or Lead AV Technician\nEssential Job Functions\nThe Travel AV Installation Technician is responsible for supporting and executing the physical installation, integration, and servicing of audio-visual and low-voltage systems in commercial environments such as corporate offices, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and public-sector projects. This role requires a blend of construction labor, telecom experience, and AV-specific expertise. Essential duties include, but are not limited to:\nConstruction & Site Labor\nRead and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and AV system schematics\nPerform site labor such as equipment staging, material handling, debris removal, and job site cleanup\nInstall support infrastructure: cable trays, conduit, raceways, blocking, and mounting hardware\nOperate hand tools, power tools, ladders, scissor lifts, and other construction equipment in compliance with safety protocols\nCoordinate daily with general contractors and other trades to maintain project flow and site readiness\nTelecom & Low-Voltage Integration\nPull, label, route, and terminate structured cabling (Cat6, Cat6A, fiber, coax, etc.) for AV, voice, and data applications\nTerminate and test copper and fiber cabling using industry standards (RJ45, LC, SC, etc.)\nMount and install telecom racks, patch panels, and network enclosures\nPerform cable testing, certification, and documentation for handover packages\nTroubleshoot connectivity, signal loss, and cable faults\nAudio-Visual Installation\nMount and install displays, projectors, video walls, microphones, cameras, speakers, and control panels per AV system designs\nInstall and connect AV system components including DSPs, amplifiers, matrix switchers, control processors, and source devices\nDress and route rack cabling; assist with rack build and basic wire management\nSupport technicians, field engineers, and programmers during system commissioning\nConduct basic system tests to verify signal integrity and device functionality\nProject Support & Communication\nFollow project plans, work orders, and instructions from project managers, engineers, and lead technicians\nReport jobsite progress, blockers, and material needs professionally and promptly\nComplete daily logs, photos, and redline documentation as required\nMaintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment following OSHA and company safety standards\nRepresent Inter Technologies Corporation professionally on all client sites\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required\nCTS certification or ability to obtain within six months of start date\nPrior AV experience preferred\nAbility to travel regularly, often on short notice, including long or irregular hours\nMust pass criminal background check, MVR, and drug screening\nStrong communication and teamwork skills\nProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite\nExperience with hand tools, power tools, and basic construction equipment\nQuick learning ability and adaptability\nCapable of making sound decisions under pressure\nReliable, approachable, and professional demeanor\nValid driver’s license with no more than two citations in the last two years\nAbility to lift 50 lbs and complete all required safety training\nWorking Conditions\nWork environments vary from comfortable indoor settings to active construction sites\nMay include hot, cold, outdoor, or elevated conditions (e.g., scissor lifts, suspension rigs)\nRequires appropriate PPE and compliance with jobsite safety protocols\nSuccess Factors\nAbility to follow written and verbal instructions accurately\nTakes initiative, is dependable, and completes tasks efficiently\nProfessional, detail-oriented, and committed to high-quality installations\nCollaborative and receptive to feedback\nDemonstrates time and resource management skills\nEager to learn and take on new responsibilities\nSupports team goals and contributes to project success\nConsistently reports to job sites on time and in proper attire/PPE\nCompensation and Benefits\nInter Technologies Corporation offers a competitive compensation and benefits package* including:\nPaid vacation and sick time\nMedical, dental, and vision coverage\nGenerous daily per diem while traveling to cover meals and non-reimbursable expenses\nFull-service in-house travel team managing air, ground, and lodging-all billed through company accounts\n401(k) plan with employer contribution after one year of enrollment\nProvided tool kit, uniform shirt, PPE, and cell phone stipend\n*Benefits listed apply to full-time hourly and salaried employees and are subject to change.\nADA Compliance Statement\nThe ADA prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities.
