ITC is a rapidly growing and evolving family-owned and operated business and we need you to join our growing family and client list!\nTitle: Rack Assembly Technician\nDepartment: Design and Engineering\nLocation: Franklinton, NC\nPay Scale: $19-$23 per hour\nJob Type: Full-Time, Hourly\nReports To: Design Manager\nPOSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:\nThis position is responsible and accountable for installing the electronic, hardware, and wiring components of audio-visual racks and systems according to company standards. This position reports to the Design Manager and is a member of the Design and Engineering team supporting the mission and goals of a \"Best in Class\" sales and AV integration program. As an operational member of a dynamic design and assembly operation, the AV Rack Builder Technician will work with minimal supervision to receive, inventory, assemble and install AV equipment into racks to comply with the company’s policies and procedures, including quality, safety, environmental, and business practices.\nThis is an hourly position that is based in the Franklinton, NC, warehouse. As a national company, opportunities to work at job sites across the country are also available.\nEssential job functions, duties and responsibilities:\nThis position is responsible for performing the process of receiving, inventorying, assembling, installing, commissioning and testing AV and other simple network equipment into AV racks with minimal supervision and oversight. This position requires a variety of duties including construction labor as well as electrical and electronic installation and repair but not limited to:\nResponsible for equipment rack fabrication for projects in accordance with wiring diagrams and standards for quality assurance\nInstall components in rack according to engineering drawings\nInstall cabling according to engineering drawings within the rack between components\nBuild custom wiring harnesses from engineering drawings, which includes soldering, crimping, and assembling cable connectors as directed\nBuilds custom stock cables and tests for workmanship\nMaintains rack fabrication build sheets for inventory used, including serial numbers, MAC addresses, firmware versions, and IP addresses if static\nResponsible for inventory asset accuracy and physical inventory discrepancies between system records and actual count\nBuilding, labeling, testing and shipping preparation for all client AV rack cabinets sent through Rack Fabrication\nReview AV documents provided by engineering staff to ensure appropriate documentation and design specifications are made available\nAct as primary liaison between AV Engineering Staff, Project Managers and Warehouse related to rack builds and equipment procurement\nClosely monitor information queues for all fabrication requests\nEffectively applies company methodology and enforces project standards\nCommunicate with the warehouse team of when items are arriving and making sure they are properly signed out\nAssist in in-house production and quality control\nRead and evaluate rack elevations and drawings and communicate to engineering any potential issues\nRed line drawings and document any changes to system design\nMock up AV systems for testing and programing\nCommunicate needs in both consumables and stock to warehouse and purchasing\nCommunicate project status and projected completion of projects to project manager and install technician\nOrganize and maintain cleanliness of shop area, office area, and inventory\nOrganize and maintain project bins/manuals\nResponsible for signing out AV stock to specific jobs\nPrepare materials to roll to the field when testing is complete\nOversee the burn in process for monitors and projectors\nMoving and/or repositioning large equipment or wiring supplies. Individuals must be able to lift and carry heavy objects of 75 lbs. unassisted\nTrouble-shooting audio and video cabling\nSanding, painting and other light construction jobs\nWorking in confined spaces\nProviding some direction mentoring of other staff and technicians\nPerforming other duties as assigned\n\nKnowledge, skills and abilities required:\nHigh school degree required, college degree preferred\nLegally authorized to work in the United States and possess the ability to obtain access to US Military bases and Government facilities for projects which require background clearances\nMinimum 1 year of experience in the installation and commissioning of audiovisual systems\nCTS certification is highly preferred\nPrior experience in the integration of audiovisual, video conferencing and closely related technologies preferred\nSuccessfully complete criminal background check, motor vehicle review and drug test prior to start\nAble to read engineering drawings and follow directions\nAbility to perform basic system component assembly (rack mounting) of electronic devices and install cabling according to company standards\nAbility to power up and do basic test of device functionality\nHighly organized, and effective with personal time management\nExcellent communication skills.
