Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.\nWhat are we looking for?\nThe 2027 Intern - Construction Services is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory testing, site assessment, engineering duties and administrative tasks under general supervision.\nSalary & Benefits Information:\nIn addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.\nWhat you’ll do:\nPerform a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under direct supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.\nOperate testing equipment and conducts testing (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provides assessment of data through reporting\nWork utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams\nUse specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks\nMake detailed observations and gives limited interpretation of results\nMaintain detailed documentation and data from test results\nCommunicate effectively with client and project teams\nAssist in classifying soil samples and various geotechnical laboratory testing\nAssist in preparing work order for construction material testing\nProvide back-up support for other department administrative staff \nPerform data entry maintenance in company systems\nThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.\nMinimum Requirements & Qualifications:\nMust be currently enrolled in at an accredited University\nValid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required\nMust be able to work off shifts and overtime\nAbility to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication\nMust be able to read and understand work plans\nAbility to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.\nAbility to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound.\nAbility to kneel and squat occasionally\nAbility to walk and stand for long periods of time\nAbility to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)\nAbility to climb occasionally\nIntertek: Total Quality.
