Our Purpose: Bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life.\nWhat are we looking for?\nThe Engineer - Battery Lab is responsible for performing testing and evaluations on military and aerospace products to the provisions of U.S., Canadian and other international product standards; writing reports; and communicating with clients. Ability to travel up to 25%.\nSalary & Benefits Information\nThe base wage or salary range for this position is $70,000-$72,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.\nIn addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.\nWhat you’ll do:\nRead and determine applicability of standards for the EUT (equipment under test).\nWear appropriate PPE; including work gloves and steel toe shoes. \nUse proper lifting techniques and equipment to move heavy, oversized samples.\nPerform testing of batteries/battery systems in accordance with standards. \nOperate environmental chambers. \nDocument testing using data loggers and photographs.\nUse a schedule to plan testing, evaluations and report writing. \nDevelop, set up, and follow established test plans.\nCompile test results during testing. Compile data and product description and compose final reports. Submit report to reviewer for final approval.\nCommunicate project status and test results to clients, sales personnel, and management throughout testing.\nDestructive & nondestructive testing of battery cells, packs, modules and systems.\nDisassembling batteries to evaluate components and setup samples for fault testing.\nSupport senior engineers in conducting thermal runaway fire tests.\nAssist in test setup, teardown, and cleanup (respirator is required).\nWill operate battery cyclers for charge/discharge of batteries.\nSupport shipping/receiving of samples.\nPerforming electrical calculations and measurements.\nManage battery projects that are assigned and communicate with clients throughout projects.\nOther duties as assigned.\nProvide on-going support to clients as needed. \nThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details.
