Intertek's project-related assurance, testing, inspection and consulting services are the risk management and quality assurance partner you need to ensure the reliability, safety and performance of your new developments, existing assets and facilities.\nIntertek’s Building Science Solutions (BSS) group is primarily focused on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.\nWhat are we looking for?\nThe ideal Building Enclosure Project Manager will have a solid background and interest in building enclosure consulting for new and existing buildings. They should also have an interest in leading projects of various sizes, building the local business, and contributing technically to our overall team. They have responsibilities including management of project(s), supporting senior staff members, building client relationships and pursuing project work. This position will travel up to 25% outside the local area.\nShift/Schedule: Monday - Friday 8AM-5PM\nWhat you’ll do:\nLead and perform WBAT projects on medium to large sized projects\nLead new design consulting and peer reviews of plans and specifications for building enclosures\nPerform initial review of architectural drawings, shop drawings and submittals pertaining to the building enclosure\nAssist with/perform field performance testing and water leakage testing of various building enclosure systems\nManage construction administration services, including shop drawing reviews and conducting site visits\nAssist with/perform forensic investigations and documentation of existing conditions for various building enclosure systems\nLead remediation design of building enclosures\nWork with staff on major design, inspection or investigative projects\nPrepare professionally written technical reports\nPrepare sketches and/or mark-up details using Bluebeam or hand-written techniques\nThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.\nMinimum Requirements & Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Architectural Engineering\n5+ years’ experience in Building Enclosure consulting or leadership in Building Air Tightness Testing\nTechnical understanding of building enclosure systems and construction\nExperience in managing a range of small to large projects\nAbility to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications\nAbility to perform office tasks and physical labor tasks\nAbility to perform work from ladders, boom-lifts, scaffolds, swing stages, roofs, etc.\nAbility to efficiently work on projects independently and in a team environment\nDemonstrated ability to meet deadlines\nSolid technical writing and communication skills\nConsistent and professional interaction and communication with clients and project team\nFluent in English for the safe and effective performance of the job\nAbility to travel up to 25% outside the local area, depending on local work load and project locations\nMust have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report\nPreferred Requirements & Qualifications:\nProfessional registration or ability to obtain registration within one year, preferred\nField experience with diverse building types\nInvestigation of existing walls for leaks and other performance issues\nFamiliarity with ASTM testing of exterior walls for air and water infiltration and mock-up testing\nSafety Training/Scaffold Certification\nBluebeam proficiency\nIntertek: Total Quality.
