Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.\nWhat are we looking for?\nThe CWI is responsible for employing their knowledge and training of welding processes, test methods, discontinuities, materials, qualifications, and standards to ensure that weldments and weld-related activities comply with all applicable quality and safety criteria.\nSalary & Benefits Information\nIndividual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skillset, experience, qualifications, and other job-related duties.\nIn addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.\nWhat you’ll do:\nEnsure compliance with safety and environment guidelines, policies, and regulations\nTesting and inspection of structural steel during erection on general building and pipeline sites, as well as occasional plant inspections\nInspect general construction and structural steel erection for buildings\nPerform visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobs\nInspect welding jobs for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut etc.\nRecord results of tests and welding inspections\nAble to issue and follow up on non-conformances until the close out\nPlans and conducts the analysis, inspection, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component\nReviews all welded products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept or reject the product\nDocuments data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures\nCommunicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management\nInspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications\nMeasure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers\nMay also, operates testing equipment and conducts testing, (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provides assessment of data through reporting\nOperates a calculator to calculate mathematical test results\nMust be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work \nMinimum Requirements & Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required\n Must have AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification with D1.1 experience \nMinimum of 4 years of relevant experience required\nAbility to read blueprints and understand, and interpret tolerances\nComputer Skills: Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications\nMust be able to receive, understand, and execute written and verbal directions\nAbility to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication\nMust be able to work well independently and with others\nMust be able to periodically work off shifts and overtime\nMust be able to test concrete and compaction\nValid Driver’s License and reliable driving record (required)\nPreferred Requirements and Qualifications:\nTechnical Degree in Welding is preferred\nConstruction materials testing experience is preferred\nIntertek: Total Quality.
