Our Purpose: Bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life.\nWhat are we looking for?\nThe Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is responsible for performing inspections on welded components using various Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods to ensure compliance with codes, customer specifications, and quality standards. This position will travel at least 5% of the time.\nShift/Schedule: Monday-Friday, Various Shifts\nSalary & Benefits Information\nThe base wage or salary range for this position is $45-$55 pe r hour based on relevant experience. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.\nIn addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.\nWhat you’ll do:\nLead weld inspections using advanced or multiple NDT techniques (UT, VT, MT, PT).\nEvaluate complex weld discontinuities and provide acceptance criteria per standards.\nReview, audit, and validate WPS/PQRs and welder qualifications.\nProvide technical guidance and training to Level I/II technicians.\nPrepare detailed reports and communicate findings to engineers and clients.\nAssist in procedure development and continuous improvement activities.\nAttend project meetings and support client consultations.\nEnsure accuracy of inspection records, certifications, and equipment logs.\nMinimum Requirements & Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.\n3-5+ years of welding inspection or NDT experience.\nAWS CWI (ICC) or equivalent required (CWE, SCWI, CSWIP, API 510/570/653 a plus).\nASNT Level II or III certification in relevant methods.\nAbility to read technical drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.\nExcellent attention to detail and communication skills.\nAbility to work in field and shop environments, including confined spaces and heights.\nExcellent attention to detail and communication skills.\nStrong knowledge of welding metallurgy, fabrication processes, and applicable codes.\nStrong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to travel and work in field environments as required.\nAbility to work in field and shop environments, including confined spaces and heights.\n Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required)\nThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details.
