Our Purpose: Bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life.\nWhat are we looking for?\nThe Engineer is responsible for performing calibration and support in the Design group. Calibration extends to internal & external needs on equipment to the provisions of ISO 17025, A2LA, and other mandatory accredited certification bodies required. Writing reports, reviewing data and calibration certificates, communication with external calibration services and managing internal & external databases.\nSalary & Benefits Information\nThe base wage or salary range for this position is $68,000 - $75,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.\nIn addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.\nWhat you’ll do:\nPerform calibration, diagnostic and preventative maintenance on instrumentation and/or equipment.\nCoordinate the repair of instrumentation and calibration of equipment with 3rd Party Vendors.\nEnsure timely turn-around time on all instrumentation and equipment calibration services.\nConduct equipment review following the return of calibrated equipment.\nMaintain accurate calibration records.\nMaintain instrumentation and/or equipment list(s).\nEnsure that preventative maintenance of equipment is performed in a timely and effective manner.\nReview all calibration documentation for completeness and accuracy.\nCreate or maintain Calibration Certificates.\nPerform or assist in performing suspect equipment investigations.\nMay Assist with writing and/or updating procedures to ensure efficiency, standardization, and accuracy.\nAssist & Support the Design Services Engineers in any capacity that is needed.\nPerform other work as required.\nThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.\nMinimum Requirements & Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in engineering\nNo experience required - recent college grads considered\nValid unrestricted driver’s license and reliable driving record\nMicrosoft Office expertise\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nExcellent organization and time management skills\nExcellent customer service skills\nMust be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions\nAbility to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters\nAbility to travel as business needs dictate (up to 25%)\nPreferred Requirements & Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering\n1+ years of Calibration experience\nMetrology knowledge a plus\nMeasurement Uncertainty knowledge a plus\nEnvironmental Chamber knowledge a plus\nMechanical knowledge a plus\nElectrical knowledge a plus\nAble to read and interpret technical standards and procedures\nAbility to use mechanical and electrical tools and instrumentation necessary to complete the tasks outlined above\nAble to follow direction and work independently and in a team environment\nGood verbal and written communication skills.\nExcellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.\nExcellent attention to detail. \nAbility to collaborate with others in a team-based environment.\nAbility to work overtime as needed\nAbility to work independently and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.\nMicrosoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.\nIntertek: Total Quality.
