Our Purpose: Bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life.\nWhat are we looking for?\nThe Engineer is responsible for performing testing and evaluation on electrical storage and renewable energy products to the provisions of U.S., Canadian and other international product safety standards; writing reports; and communicating with clients. Under the guidance of a more senior Engineer, may also conduct on and off-site evaluation of products to determine compliance with applicable standard(s).\nSalary & Benefits Information\nThe base wage or salary range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.\nIn addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.\nWhat you’ll do:\nRead and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test).\nValidate the project scope and sample applicability.\nSet up and operate EUT; perform and document simple repairs on EUT as needed.\nPerform testing of products in accordance with standards.\nComplete preliminary design reviews (PDR) both on and off site.\nDevelop, set up, and follow established test plans.\nCompile test results during construction review and testing. Compile data and product description and type final report using established report shell. Submit report to reviewer for final approval.\nCommunicate project status and test results to client, sales personnel, and management throughout testing.\nProvide on-going support to clients as needed.\nWithin policy guidelines, identify, properly document, and recommend engineering judgments.\nThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.\nMinimum Requirements & Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in engineering\nNo experience required - recent college grads considered\nValid unrestricted driver’s license and reliable driving record\nMicrosoft Office expertise\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nExcellent organization and time management skills\nExcellent customer service skills\nMust be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions\nAbility to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters\nAbility to travel as business needs dictate (up to 50%)\nPreferred Requirements & Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in electrical engineering\nDemonstrated experience with U.S., Canadian, and other international product safety standards\nPrior project management experience in a work setting\nExperience in Renewable Energy\nExperience in energy storage systems, inverters, power conversion systems\nIntertek: Total Quality.
