Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.\nWhat are we looking for?\nThe Environmental Project Scientist/Engineer/Geologist is responsible for supporting the Environmental department in all services including Phase I/II ESA’s, asbestos surveys, lead-based paint surveys, UST/LUST assessments, site remediation, soil/groundwater sampling, and more. This person will complete fieldwork as well as work on technical reports and proposals. This position could travel 50% of the time, depending on project load/location.\nShift/Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (may vary)\nIndividual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.\nIn addition to competitive compensation packages, Intertek employees are eligible for a variety of benefits, including paid time off, paid holidays, paid parental leave, medical plan options, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, tuition reimbursement, and more.\nWhat you’ll do:\nSupport the department on all environmental services, including Phase I/II ESAs, asbestos surveys, lead-based paint surveys, indoor air quality assessments, UST/LUST assessments, site remediation, soil and groundwater sampling, wetland surveys, and/or field observation documentation.\nAssist in the development of work scope, report preparation, client and subcontractor coordination, and assessment of proper response actions.\nManage and perform Environmental Site Assessments following the applicable ASTM Standards.\nParticipate in the installation of soil borings, monitoring wells, remediation activities, waste management and disposal, and other field requirements using standard operating procedures (SOPs).\nAuthor technical reports and proposals.\nProvide support planning, monitoring, and controlling project budgets, and building solid relationships with clients and team members.\nThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all-encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above-defined duties.\nMinimum Requirements & Qualifications:\nBS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field\n8+ years of proven technical environmental consulting experience Project management/coordination experience\nSoil/Groundwater/Vapor sampling, data evaluation, and report preparation\nExperience managing field teams and drillers\nExperience managing projects under regulatory programs like VCP, UST Program, APST, etc.\n\nClient communications/management experience\nMust be detail-oriented and a team player with excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills, as well as time and budget management skills\nMust be computer literate and able to operate most field/office equipment relating to one’s discipline\nProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook\nValid Driver's License and reliable driving record required\nAbility to travel up to 50% of the time\nPreferred Qualifications:\nP.E. / P.G. or ability to obtain within one year\nExperience with Vapor Intrusion Mitigation System Design\nUtah Soil and Groundwater Sampler Certification (UST Program)\nUtah UST Consultant Certification\nUtah Asbestos Inspector\nExperience with SWPPP/SPCC plans/inspections\nIntertek: Total Quality.
