Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.\nWhat are we looking for?\nThe Geotechnical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory testing, site assessment and engineering duties under general supervision.\nWhat you’ll do:\nPerform a variety of laboratory testing under direct supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures\nOperate testing equipment and conducts laboratory testing, (examples: concrete compressive strength, grain size analysis, proctor, Atterberg Limits) and provides assessment of data through reporting\nCalibrate and maintain laboratory and field equipment\nUse specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks\nMake detailed observations and gives limited interpretation of results\nMaintain detailed documentation and data from test results\nOperate a calculator to calculate mathematical test results\nCommunicate effectively with client and project teams\nMust be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work\nMinimum Requirements & Qualifications:\nB.S. Degree in Geology or Civil Engineering required\nMust have Basic Math, Calculator and Computer Skills\nAbility to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication\nMust be able to read and understand work plans\nMust be able to work off shifts and overtime\nValid Driver's License and reliable driving record required\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.\nAbility to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound.\nAbility to kneel and squat occasionally\nAbility to walk and stand for long periods of time\nAbility to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)\nAbility to climb occasionally\nIntertek: Total Quality.
