Our Purpose: Bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life.\nWhat are we looking for?\nUnder the direction of the Laboratory Manager, the Lab Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the laboratory while managing a small team to ensure compliance with both Intertek and Client laboratory operating procedures, policies, standards and relevant legislation.\nShift/Schedule: 12 hour rotating shifts\nSalary & Benefits Information\nIn addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.\nWhat you’ll do:\nSupervise the day-to-day operation of site facilities to ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards\n\nCoordinate and supervise preventative maintenance activities in accordance with approved maintenance schedules and site requirements\n\nMaintain accurate documentation of processes, maintenance activities, and records\n\nConduct testing and reporting in accordance with laboratory work instructions, test methods, preparation instructions, and relevant manuals\n\nSupervise, support, and motivate a team of Technicians to achieve day-to-day operational, safety, and quality objectives\n\nEnsure the laboratory is maintained in accordance with ISO17025 accreditation requirements and applicable standards\n\nComply with all applicable work instructions, work procedures, safe work procedures, safe work instructions, and lawful directions provided by the Lab Manager - Minerals, whether written or verbal\nParticipate in risk management activities, including the completion of risk assessments and hazard controls\nThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.\nMinimum Requirements & Qualifications:\nAssociates degree in Science\nDemonstrated knowledge of laboratory procedures, standards, and quality systems applicable to minerals testing environments, including sound working knowledge of Intertek policies, procedures, and quality systems\nMinimum of two (2) years’ experience supervising in a minerals laboratory, with exposure to sample preparation systems, fire assay analysis, carbon sulfur analysis, Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS), cyanide analysis and laboratory data entry processes\nValid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required\nPreferred Requirements & Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree preferred\nAt least two years of experience supervising a Gold or Base Metals mine site laboratory shift or team\nIntertek: Total Quality.
