What are we looking for?
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for duties supporting and performing the analytical testing of various products, for the company and its clients, and to maintain the associated records thereof.
Shift/Schedule: Monday through Friday, 0730 - 1630, overtime as needed.

What you’ll do:
Perform numerous chemical and physical tests based on accepted industry standards ranging from ASTM, AOCS, AOAC, AACC, etc. in multiple test areas
Work with a dynamic team
Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
Clean glassware and test equipment
Assist with preparing reagents as needed
Record data on appropriate data sheets and reports data into LIMS
Maintain quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories
Comply with safety, quality and housekeeping requirements
Participate in cross training as needed
Carry out the above responsibilities, and all others which may be assigned, in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to the Company’s Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and Strategy, and exercise good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy in so doing
Perform other duties as required

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must demonstrate ability to multi-task in high production testing areas.
- Must demonstrate excellent team communication, coordination, and cooperation.
- Must possess good math and observation skills
- Must demonstrate proficiency using software applications and established chemistry lab processes
- Must demonstrate ability to follow standard and non-standard procedures.
- Must demonstrate ability to utilized non-complex and complex instrumentation
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be able to work overtime as business needs dictate
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to regularly lift/carry up to 44 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 49 pounds
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be ok with exposure to various chemicals
- Must be ok with exposure to potential food allergens, such as, but not limited to: peanuts, soy, etc.
- Must have reliable transportation

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
- Prefer successful completion of at least one semester of college level chemistry and/or prior work experience in a laboratory environment
- Familiarity with the analytical testing of agricultural products
Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment
