You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, oversee field and laboratory operations, and guide project teams to successful project completion. In this leadership role, you will supervise and coordinate technical personnel, provide project oversight, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company and client requirements\nThe successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who can effectively manage projects, develop technical staff, build strong client relationships, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced construction environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage and oversee large Construction Materials Testing (CMT) projects from initiation through closeout.\nDevelop and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for additional services and project growth.\nReview project setup, scope, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful execution.\nPrepare and review complex proposals, contracts, and project documentation.\nCoordinate and direct technical and administrative teams to achieve project objectives.\nPerform contract review and negotiation activities, engaging Legal and Principal Consultants when necessary.\nMonitor project budgets, costs, and profitability, including change order management.\nReview, prepare, and submit invoices while assisting with billing and collections activities.\nReview and sign test reports, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.\nOversee laboratory testing progress and field operations.\nSchedule and dispatch field personnel based on project needs and priorities.\nAttend client and project meetings and provide regular project updates.\nTrain, mentor, and develop field and laboratory staff.\nProvide technical oversight and guidance to technicians, inspectors, and laboratory personnel.\nSupervise and coordinate the work of technicians, inspectors, and project support staff.\nExercise sound judgment in adapting project plans and technical requirements to meet client and project needs.\nPerform equipment calibrations and assist with quality audits as needed.\nEnsure project quality, client satisfaction, and compliance with company standards and safety requirements.\nCommunicate effectively with clients, technicians, project managers, and senior leadership.\nMaintain a strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.\nMinimum Qualifications\nSignificant experience managing large Construction Materials Testing (CMT) projects.\nStrong field experience with:Concrete testing\nReinforcing steel (rebar) inspections/testing\nSoils testing\nDriven/Displacements Pile Foundation Projects \n\nProven experience supervising and scheduling 10 or more field technicians.\nMinimum three (3) years of project management experience in Construction Materials Testing (CMT), civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or related construction services.\nDemonstrated ability to independently manage projects using established technical procedures, company standards, and sound professional judgment.\nExperience supervising, coordinating, mentoring, and scheduling technical personnel.\nStrong knowledge of construction materials testing procedures, construction practices, project specifications, and field operations.\nDemonstrated experience in project scheduling, staffing, budgeting, invoicing, and financial management.\nStrong leadership, team management, and personnel development skills.\nExcellent communication, organizational, and client relationship management abilities.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with changing project conditions.\nStrong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.\nBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.\nACI, NICET, ICC, or other CMT-related certifications preferred.\nMinimum five (5) years of combined Construction Materials Testing and/or Project Management experience.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nAbility to frequently lift, push, pull, and move 30 to 50 pounds; occasionally more than 50 pounds with assistance.\nAbility to hear, understand, and effectively respond to detailed verbal communication.\nAbility to kneel, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods.\nAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.\nAbility to occasionally climb and work at elevated heights.\nAbility to work overnight and off-shift hours as required\nWHY WORK FOR INTERTEK-PSI?\nProfessional Service Industries, Inc.
