Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.\nWhat are we looking for?\nThe Geotechnical Staff Engineer is responsible for performing a variety of geotechnical assignments including field logging and soil laboratory assignments.\nSalary & Benefits Information\nIn addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.\nWhat you’ll do:\nPerform a variety of geotechnical assignments including field logging and soil laboratory assignments.\nPerform geotechnical report writing.\nReview project plans and specifications prepared by others.\nAttend client site meetings.\nCommunicate effectively with client and project teams.\nWork on multiple projects at a time.\nMay perform on-site observations, sample collection, and specific tests.\nMay work both in the field and laboratory regularly.\nMust be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work.\nMinimum Requirements & Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited/ABET school is required\nRecent Graduates will be considered\nAbility to obtain EIT/FE certification within 6 months of hire is required\nKnowledge and experience in engineering software (GeoStudio, APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, SLIDE, Settle3 and MSEW) are preferred\nEffective communication skills (written, verbal and listening) and solid interpersonal skills are required\nThe ability to read and understand work plans is required\nMust be able to work off shift and overtime as needed\nMay travel up to 10% of time\nValid Driver's License and reliable driving record required\nAbility to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds occasionally. Additional requirements may be needed for specific sites/locations.\nAbility to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound.\nAbility to kneel and squat occasionally\nAbility to walk and stand for long periods of time\nAbility to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)\nAbility to climb occasionally\nPreferred Qualifications:\n1+ years of geotechnical engineering or construction materials testing experience - WE WILL TRAIN\nEIT/FE certification \nntertek: Total Quality.
