Our Purpose: Bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life.\nWhat are we looking for?\nThe Lab Tech is responsible for performing numerous and varied chemical tastings, based on ASTM, in a sophisticated chemical lab.\nShift/Schedule: Days/Nights/Weekends\nSalary & Benefits Information\nIn addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nPerforms numerous chemical and physical tests based on American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods or accepted industry standards in multiple test areas\nAssist with equipment calibration, maintenance and basic troubleshooting\nClean glassware and test equipment\nAssist with preparing reagents as needed\nRecord data on appropriate data sheets and reports data to LIMS system.\nMaintain quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories.\nComply with safety, quality and housekeeping requirements.\nParticipate in cross training as needed\nThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.\nMinimum Requirements and Qualifications:\nMust possess good math and observation skills.\nMust demonstrate proficiency using LIMS applications and established chemistry lab processes.\nMust demonstrate excellent team communication, coordination and cooperation.\nMust demonstrate ability to follow standard and non-standard procedures.\nMust demonstrate ability to utilize non-complex and complex instrumentation.\nPrefer proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.\nMust be able to work overtime as business needs dictate.\nAbility to regularly lift/carry up to 44 pounds.\nAbility to occasionally lift/carry up to 49 pounds.\nAbility to stand for prolonged periods of time.\nExposure to various chemicals.\nPreferred Requirements and Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or GED\nPrefer successful completion of at least one semester of college level chemistry and/or prior work experience in a laboratory environment\nIntertek: Total Quality.
