Our Purpose: Bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life.\nWhat are we looking for?\nThe Lab Tech, Petroleum is responsible for performing numerous chemical and physical tests based on American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods or accepted industry standards in multiple test areas.\nShift/Schedule: Rotating (Days/Nights) shifts are 12 hours. Working a 4 on 4 off schedule including on call days.\nSalary & Benefits Information\nIn addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.\nWhat you’ll do:\nPerforms numerous chemical and physical tests based on American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods or accepted industry standards in multiple test areas.\nAssist with equipment calibration, maintenance and basic troubleshooting.\nCleans glassware and test equipment.\nAssists with preparing reagents as needed.\nRecords data on appropriate data sheets and reports data to LIMS system.\nResponsible for maintaining quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories.\nResponsible for complying with safety, quality and housekeeping requirements.\nParticipates in cross training as needed.\n This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.\nMinimum Requirements & Qualifications:\nMust demonstrate ability to multi-task in high production testing areas\nMust possess good math and observation skills\nMust demonstrate proficiency using LIMS applications and established chemistry lab processes\nMust demonstrate excellent team communication, coordination and cooperation\nMust demonstrate ability to follow standard and non-standard procedures\nMust demonstrate ability to utilize non-complex and complex instrumentation\nMust be able to work overtime as business needs dictate\nAbility to occasionally lift/carry up to 49 pounds\nAbility to stand for prolonged periods of time\nPrevious exposure to various chemicals on the job\nTwo years laboratory experience in a petrochemical lab\nPreferred Requirements & Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or GED preferred\nCollege level course work in Chemistry is a big plus\nExperience operating Octane Engines \nPrefer proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel\nIntertek: Total Quality.
