InTEST Thermal Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of InTEST Corporation, headquartered in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA.\nInTEST Thermal Solutions is seeking a full-time Embedded Software Engineer to join our team.\nPosition Summary\nThis position is designated as an onsite role to provide a presence to support business, operational, or project needs at our manufacturing facility in Mansfiled, MA . Candidates MUST be within commuting distance to Mansfield, MA.\nThe Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing control systems using embedded software. This includes, but is not limited to, graphical user interfaces (GUI), system control logic, communications, utilities, diagnostics, software, and firmware. The role also involves supporting system architecture through collaboration with electrical engineering functions.\nRequirements\nEssential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following\nArchitect and design embedded software solutions for high-technology temperature process control systems.\nDevelop software and firmware components, including control logic, communications, diagnostics, utilities, and user interfaces.\nCreate hardware and software specifications for new and existing products.\nWrite, debug, and validate embedded software in accordance with defined requirements and design specifications.\nCollaborate and coordinate with electrical engineers and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure effective integration between hardware and software.\nTroubleshoot systems using debugging tools such as in-circuit emulators and digital oscilloscopes.\nParticipate in the development and execution of test strategies and protocols to verify that hardware and software meet performance and design requirements.\nPrepare, maintain, and document software designs, specifications, validation results, and related technical documentation.\nSchedule work activities to meet project milestones, technical specifications, and completion deadlines.\nReview project progress with management and provide status updates as needed.\nInterface with customers and vendors to support troubleshooting and problem resolution.\nParticipate in onsite activities as required to support development, testing, and operational objectives.\nObserve and comply with all company safety rules and practices; maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work environment.\nPerform other related duties as assigned by management.\nSupervisor Responsibiites\nNone\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\nExperience designing embedded software for hardware control and user interface applications using C/C++.\nAbility to perform responsibilities effectively in a hybrid work environment.\nAbility to travel and work onsite approximately 25-50% of the time, as required.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nSound mathematical skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Windows-based operating systems.\nPreferred Qualifications / Experience Plusses\nExperience with Microchip development tools and the PIC32 family of microcontrollers.\nExperience using the Microchip Harmony Development Platform.\nExperience developing LabVIEW drivers.\nCircuit board design experience.\nExperience using C or other high-level programming languages to create applications for automated testing.\nExperience with temperature control measuring devices, including thermocouples, RTDs, and diodes.\nUnderstanding of PID and PWM control strategies.\nKnowledge of wiring and integration of electrical components such as pump motors, variable frequency drives, compressors, valves, and sensors.\nDemonstrated ability to work effectively across disciplines and with external partners.\n Work Environment and Physical Requirements\nThe role involves a combination of remote work and onsite engagement.\nOnsite work may include office, laboratory, manufacturing, or customer-facing environments.\nThe employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.\ninTEST Thermal Solutions offers highly competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits, & rewarding work environment.
