Be part of a team that’s shaping the future of digital innovation.\nOpen Position: HMI Specification & UX Integration Specialist (m/f/d)\nLocation: Stuttgart\nResponsibilities\nYou will be responsible for the operational support, adaptation and implementation of UX/UI/HMI concepts up to series-production maturity with a special focus on Android Automotive HMI. Your duties include, but are not limited to:\nTake technical ownership of design and interaction concepts and ensure consistent implementation that meets user and brand goals.\n\nAssess concepts for feasibility in a series-production Android Automotive environment; identify technical, safety or regulatory adaptation needs and initiate required changes.\n\nCreate and maintain implementation and handover specifications (screens, flow & state charts, implementation notes, Car App templates) for development partners.\n\nPrepare prototype adjustments, wireframes and mockups for validation and support implementation in Android development environments.\n\nClosely accompany the implementation phase with internal teams and external development partners; coordinate feedback loops and prioritization.\n\nSupport validations, usability checks and release reviews; track open items through to series release.\n\nDocument changes, maintain specification baselines and present results in workshops and review meetings with stakeholders.\n\nBasic Qualifications\nDegree in Interaction/UX Design, Media Informatics, Industrial Design, Computer Science with a UX focus, or equivalent.\n\nExperience specifying and overseeing complex user interfaces (UI/HMI), preferably in the automotive domain.\n\nConfident use of common HMI/design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, InVision, etc.); ability to adapt prototypes and mockups.\n\nPractical experience creating flow/state charts, wireframes and technical handover documents.\n\nExperience collaborating with software development teams and external partners; familiarity with agile processes and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) is an advantage.\n\nStructured, result-oriented and communicative working style; strong moderation and alignment skills.\n\nReliable and independent work approach.\n\nAffinity for digital topics and interest in automotive series development.\n\nVery good German and good English skills.\n\nClass B driving license desirable.\n\nAdditional HMI & Android Automotive Requirements\nTo succeed in an Android Automotive series environment, the role requires specific domain knowledge and hands-on experience in Android Automotive OS (AAOS) and the embedded infotainment stack. The following are required or strongly desirable:\nUnderstanding of input methods and UX patterns for cars: touch, rotary/knob, steering-wheel controls, voice interaction - design for glanceability and low driver distraction.\n\nExperience with multi-display / cluster vs. head-unit layouts and cross-display coordination (infotainment, instrument cluster, HUD).\n\nKnowledge of platform constraints and performance optimization: GPU/CPU limits, memory constraints, compositor/SurfaceFlinger behavior, display composition, refresh rates and latency mitigation.\n\nExperience with localization/internationalization, accessibility (e.g., screen readers, high-contrast modes) and scalability across resolutions and languages for series products.\n\nHands-on skills in Android development and debugging: Android Studio, Kotlin/Java, Gradle, ADB, logcat, systrace/perfetto, and head-unit emulator testing.\n\nExperience with app vs. system UI integration on AAOS: differences between system-level HMI components and third-party car apps, lifecycle and permission/security models.\n\nUnderstanding of OTA/update flows, secure boot implications, and how updates affect HMI behavior and feature rollout.\n\nAwareness of automotive standards and processes (ISO 26262 functional safety, ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity, Automotive SPICE) and how HMI requirements integrate into safety/security workflows.\n\nPractical knowledge of integration and verification workflows (HIL/MIL/SIL where applicable, system integration, in-vehicle validation) and automated testing strategies for HMI on AAOS.\n\nComfortable working across multidisciplinary teams: systems engineering, SW/HW development, QA, validation, product management and suppliers.\n\nTools & Workflow (typical)\nDesign & prototyping: Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure.\n\nRequirements & traceability: Jira, Confluence, DOORS (or equivalents).\n\nAndroid toolchain: Android Studio, ADB, Android Emulator.\n\nDebugging &
