This role defines and guides the architecture of Java-based systems that manage business rules, transaction processing, data integrity, validation, exception handling, operational resiliency, and practical AI-enabled capabilities. The architect works closely with engineering, product, quality, security, and infrastructure partners to turn business needs into practical, maintainable solutions.\n\nYour Responsibilities\nLead the architecture and technical design of Java-based Business Process applications and platform capabilities.\nTranslate complex business requirements into clear solution designs, implementation plans, and measurable non-functional requirements.\nDesign reliable processing flows for business rules, transaction lifecycle management, validation, exception handling, auditability, and data reconciliation.\nGuide engineers on application structure, code quality, testing strategy, performance, security, and operational supportability.\nEstablish relational data design and SQL practices that protect data integrity and support performant, scalable processing.\nPartner with product and business stakeholders to resolve ambiguity, identify risks early, and make sound technical tradeoffs.\nConduct design reviews and maintain architecture artifacts, including solution designs, diagrams, and technical decision records.\nArchitect and guide the responsible integration of AI-enabled capabilities into Business Process applications, including model and LLM integration, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), inference services, workflow orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, and appropriate security controls.\nCollaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams on CI/CD, observability, incident readiness, and AWS-hosted application operations.\nMentor developers and provide technical leadership through influence; this role does not have direct reports.\nRequired Experience, Skills, and Qualifications\nExperience with artificial intelligence (AI) tools to optimize workflows, problem-solving, and productivity.\nAdvanced knowledge of Java and enterprise application development, including the ability to guide design and implementation decisions across a development team.\nAdvanced experience designing or modernizing workflow-driven, rules-driven, transaction-processing, or other complex Business Process applications.\nAdvanced knowledge of relational database design, SQL, data integrity controls, and performance optimization; Oracle experience is preferred.\nIntermediate to advanced experience with AWS-hosted applications and cloud operational practices, including security, monitoring, resiliency, and cost-aware design.\nIntermediate experience with distributed systems concepts, including scalability, fault tolerance, observability, and recovery from failures.\nIntermediate experience with CI/CD and modern software delivery practices.\nDemonstrated ability to communicate architecture decisions clearly to engineers, product partners, and non-technical stakeholders.\nHands-on experience designing or integrating AI-enabled capabilities in enterprise applications, including model or LLM integration, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), inference services, prompt and evaluation design, and AI application security controls.\nWorking knowledge of practical AI engineering tools and patterns, such as LLM application frameworks, vector search or retrieval, model evaluation and monitoring, and responsible AI guardrails.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3597,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Financial Software & Embedded Finance"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-24T12:02:37Z"}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.855,"p_room":1,"age_days":8,"expected_fill_days":52,"reasons":["conf:7","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-02T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":215000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/intrafi-senior-software-architect-java-enterprise-applications","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/intrafi-senior-software-architect-java-enterprise-applications.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-03T04:41:43Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":4911,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":89,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-04T00:00:00Z"}}}
