Here’s your chance to make a difference and grow with a dynamic team that thrives on innovation and collaboration\nYour Role:\nAs a Data Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, stability, and continuous improvement of existing database platforms running on AWS. You will ensure databases remain secure, highly available, performant, and recoverable, supporting production workloads and business-critical applications.\nThis role focuses on operational excellence, troubleshooting, automation, and incremental optimization, working closely with DevOps, Platform, and application teams.\nOperate & Support Existing AWS Databases\nSupport and maintain production databases running on Amazon RDS, Aurora, and self-managed databases on EC2.\n\nEnsure database availability, integrity, and performance across multiple environments.\n\nRespond to database-related incidents, alerts, and service degradations.\n\nMonitor, Troubleshoot & Optimize Performance\nMonitor database health, performance, capacity, and replication using CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and native database tools.\n\nDiagnose and resolve performance issues such as slow queries, locking, resource contention, and replication lag.\n\nPerform capacity planning and proactive tuning.\n\nSecurity, Backup & Data Protection\nEnforce database security best practices (access controls, encryption at rest/in transit, credential management).\n\nManage and validate backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.\n\nSupport compliance, audit, and data protection requirements.\n\nAutomation & Infrastructure as Code (Incremental)\nMaintain and improve database provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code where applicable (Terraform, CloudFormation).\n\nAutomate routine DBA tasks such as backups, patching coordination, health checks, and reporting.\n\nReduce manual operations while ensuring operational safety.\n\nChange Management & Upgrades\nPlan and execute database upgrades, patching, and configuration changes with minimal service disruption.\n\nCoordinate changes with application, DevOps, and platform teams.\n\nParticipate in release planning and change control processes.\n\nDocumentation & Operational Hygiene\nMaintain accurate database documentation, schemas, runbooks, and recovery procedures.\n\nEnsure operational standards and best practices are documented and followed.\n\nPerform housekeeping activities to keep environments clean and supportable.\n\nCollaborate Across Teams\nWork closely with application developers to support schema changes, query optimization, and release readiness.\n\nPartner with DevOps and Platform teams on availability, automation, and monitoring improvements.\n\nProvide database expertise during incidents and post-incident reviews.\n\nRequirements\nWhat You’ll Bring\nEducation & Experience\nA College Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.\n\n2+ years of experience in Database Administration supporting production systems.\n\nTechnical Skills (AWS-Focused)\nAWS Databases: Amazon RDS, Aurora (MySQL/PostgreSQL), self-managed DBs on EC2.\n\nDatabase Engines: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server (one or more).\n\nMonitoring & Performance: CloudWatch, Performance Insights, query analysis tools.\n\nBackup & Recovery: Automated backups, snapshots, point-in-time recovery, DR testing.\n\nSecurity: IAM integration, encryption, secrets management.\n\nAutomation & IaC: Terraform / CloudFormation exposure preferred.\n\nMindset & Working Style\nOperations-driven with strong troubleshooting skills.\n\nDetail-oriented and reliability-focused.\n\nComfortable supporting existing/legacy database environments.\n\nAutomation-minded and improvement-oriented.\n\nClear communicator with a documentation-first mindset.\n\nFluent in English and French (Fluent/optionally), able to coordinate across teams delivering thrilling player experiences.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience with high-availability and multi-AZ architectures.\n\nExposure to database replication and migration strategies.\n\nFamiliarity with SRE practices (SLIs/SLOs, incident management).\n\nAWS certifications (e.g., Database Specialty, Solutions Architect).\n\nApply now and help us build the future of talent at INTRALOT.\nAbout Us: Bally’s Intralot a publicly listed company established in 1992, is a leading gaming solutions supplier and operator active in 40 regulated jurisdictions worldwide.
