You thrive in a dynamic environment and continuously develop your skills as the complexity of our work steadily increases.\nIn this challenging and hands-on role, you will work on a wide range of robot automation solutions for customers as well as internal cell and experimental setups. You will be responsible for a broad spectrum of tasks. Your focus will be on the basic CAD design, procurement and manufacturing (e.g., 3D printing) of system components, mechanical/pneumatic assembly, and electrical installation of robot cells or laboratory setups. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of our laboratory facilities by performing regular maintenance regarding functionality and safety, managing warehouse logistics, and handling organizational tasks such as shipping, procurement, inventory management, and purchasing. By taking on these important daily responsibilities, you will make a significant contribution to the team's success.\nHow your work moves the mission forward\nWorking closely with mechanical engineers, product managers, software developers and researchers to design, maintain and refine our automation systems for electronic manufacturing from the ground up.\nManufacturing mechanical and electrical assemblies for fast, innovative R&D robot automation cells. This includes visualizing concepts, creating CAD designs, and producing prototypes.\nPerform electrical tests and troubleshoot faults in existing automation cells.\nManage daily laboratory maintenance, warehouse logistics and hardware-related office tasks (shipping, procurement, inventory and purchasing) to create a highly efficient working environment.\nIndependent and timely completion of projects\nReading and executing hardware specifications and circuit diagrams for assembling and wiring industrial control cabinets, robot peripherals, and HMI/PLC hardware\nProcurement and integration of best-in-class technology products into automation work cells\nDocument and communicate your work clearly and understandably to internal stakeholders.\nRepresentation of the local laboratory manager in their absence.\nSkills you will need to be successful\nCompleted vocational training with several years of relevant experience, ideally qualification as a master craftsman or technician (Mechatronik Meister oder Techniker) in the field of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related field.\nDemonstrable practical experience in mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and troubleshooting of laboratory or production systems\nExperience in the installation and operation of common mobile or stationary robot applications \nProfessional experience with CAD-Software for checking mechanical designs, layouts and electrical systems\nUnderstanding of plant and occupational safety, related occupational safety certificate is a plus\nKnowledge of the interpretation of electrical and pneumatic circuit diagrams, as well as the ability to assemble industrial control cabinets.\nBusiness Fluency in German and English is required\nWillingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%)\nThe willingness to deal with ambiguity, proactive problem solving and bias for action\nHands-on and Shopfloor mentality\nSkills that will differentiate your candidacy\nExperience in PLC programming or troubleshooting (e.g., Beckhoff, PILZ) and motion control systems\nProfessional experience with 3D printing, prototyping and machining (e.g. drilling, cutting, soldering)\nDemonstrable experience in the implementation of safety circuits and knowledge of industrial safety standards (e.g. ANSI/RIA R15.06, ISO 10218, Machinery Directive or Regulation)\nExperience in modifying or designing simple electrical and pneumatic circuit diagrams for automation systems\nExperience in managing robot laboratory maintenance, hardware inventory, and logistics processes.\nThe base salary for this full-time position is between 80.000 - 82.000 EUR + 15% bonus + equity + benefits.
