We serve over 50 million customers worldwide across TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp.\nWe are looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer (Mobile) to help define the technical strategy, architecture, and overall engineering excellence for TurboTax Mobile, one of Intuit’s most critical consumer-facing flagship platforms.\nTurboTax Mobile operates at massive scale in a highly seasonal, customer-critical environment where reliability, performance, and trust are paramount.\nResponsibilities\nResponsibilities\nDrive the architectural vision and technical strategy for complex, large-scale consumer applications, with deep technical expertise in Android and the ability to architect, develop, and deliver solutions across mobile, web, backend, and emerging technology platforms.\nLead the design and development of highly reliable, scalable, and performant Android applications while contributing hands-on to engineering challenges across iOS and other technology stacks as business and technical needs evolve.\nSet engineering best practices, mentor engineers, and drive cross-functional alignment with Product, Design, Data Science, and Engineering leaders.\nLead the strategic evaluation, prototyping, and integration of cutting-edge AI technologies, including generative AI, multimodal LLMs, and agentic AI, to transform consumer tax experiences and unlock new platform capabilities.\nEstablish organizational standards for software engineering, CI/CD pipeline efficiency, and modern architecture patterns, including modularization, server-driven UI, and reusable platform capabilities.\nChampion technical excellence, performance optimization, accessibility, security, and reliability across mobile and adjacent engineering workstreams.\nArchitect and build mobile platform capabilities and agentic surfaces, enabling highly contextual, intelligent, and seamless customer experiences.\nDrive end-to-end technical solutions across client applications, backend services, APIs, and AI systems, demonstrating the ability to operate effectively beyond the Android ecosystem.\nRemain actively hands-on in architecture, coding, prototyping, debugging, and resolving complex technical challenges while influencing technical direction across teams.\nQualifications\nBS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.\n12+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of architecting and delivering high-impact, large-scale consumer applications.\nDeep hands-on expertise in Android development, including Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, application architecture, performance optimization, and modern Android development practices.\nStrong software engineering fundamentals and demonstrated versatility across technology stacks, with the ability to design, develop, debug, and deliver solutions beyond Android, including iOS, web, backend services, and AI-powered systems.\nProven expertise in system design and architecture for high-volume, mission-critical applications operating under seasonal traffic peaks.\nAbility to navigate unfamiliar technologies, quickly acquire proficiency in new frameworks and platforms, and independently solve complex engineering problems across the stack.\nStrong understanding of modern architecture patterns, distributed systems, API design, modularization, and scalable application development.\nExperience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from architecture and implementation to testing, deployment, and production operations.\nExperience developing and consuming web services using REST, GraphQL, or similar API technologies.\nFamiliarity with the development challenges associated with highly scalable, reliable, and available web applications.\nExperience with automated testing, unit testing, Test Driven Development (TDD), CI/CD, and engineering productivity practices.\nExperience building or integrating functional AI models, on-device LLMs, multimodal LLM architectures, or AI-powered application capabilities.\nProven ability to lead complex technical initiatives, make sound architectural trade-offs, and deliver solutions across multiple engineering teams and technology domains.\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts, influence architectural decisions, and collaborate effectively with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders.\nIntuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach.
