The company has raised over $83M from leading institutional and corporate investors, including Woven Capital (Toyota's growth fund), Toyota Ventures, Samsung NEXT, OurCrowd, Terra Ventures, and Sompo.\nJob Overview\nWe are looking for a Japanese Graphic Designer to help localize and adapt ElliQ's visual experience for the Japanese market.\nIn this part-time role based in Tokyo (hybrid or remote), you will work closely with our global Product, Design, and Localization teams to ensure ElliQ's visual design, illustrations, animations, marketing assets, and user-facing content resonate with older Japanese adults and aligns with local cultural expectations.\nThis role is ideal for a designer who combines strong product visual design skills with a deep understanding of Japanese culture, aesthetics, and user preferences.\nResponsibilities\nAdapt and localize existing ElliQ visual designs, illustrations, animations, and UI assets for the Japanese market.\nEnsure visual content is culturally appropriate, appealing, and easy to understand for Japanese older adults.\nCollaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Conversation Designers, and Localization teams in Japan and Israel.\nReview and refine typography, layouts, iconography, color usage, imagery, and visual storytelling to meet Japanese user expectations.\nCreate new visual assets, illustrations, and marketing materials as needed for product features, user studies, and customer-facing communications.\nSupport localization efforts for the ElliQ mobile app, caregiver experiences, onboarding flows, and in-product content.\nParticipate in user research reviews and incorporate insights from Japanese users into design recommendations.\n Help maintain visual consistency between the global ElliQ brand and localized Japanese experiences (where possible).\nProvide feedback on cultural nuances, accessibility considerations, and age-friendly design best practices.\nRequirements\n3+ years of experience in graphic design, visual design, UI design, or related fields.\nNative-level Japanese proficiency.\nBusiness-level English communication skills.\nStrong understanding of Japanese culture, aesthetics, and design conventions.\nProficiency in Figma and other relevant design tools.\nStrong portfolio demonstrating visual design, branding, illustration, or digital product work.\nExcellent attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote, cross-functional environment.\nExperience working with international product teams.\nAbility to balance consistency with the global brand while tailoring experiences for local audiences.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\nNice-to-Haves\nExperience designing products or services for older adults.\nExperience with localization or transcreation projects.\nExperience with motion graphics, animation, or video editing.\nFamiliarity with AI products, conversational interfaces, or consumer technology products.\nPosition Details:\nLocation: Tokyo, Japan\nEmployment Type: Part-Time\nWork Arrangement: Hybrid or Remote within the Tokyo area\nReports to: Tokyo Product Manager\nStart Date: Immediate\nIn a nutshell\nWe are looking for a Japanese Graphic Designer to help localize and adapt ElliQ's visual experience for the Japanese market.
