This role can also be based remotely in the US. This role requires application of systems engineering principles to the design, development, and integration of software systems within a broader system context. The ideal candidate will proactively work with customer stakeholders, systems and subsystem engineers, and ensure that software development is aligned with the overall system goals, architecture, and operational requirements.\nKey Responsibilities\nRequirements Engineering - Analyze ConOps, systems and sub-system specifications, to decompose, generate, and allocate flight software requirements in alignment with system objectives. \nArchitecture Design: Define high level software architecture that supports the system’s functional and non-functional requirements in alignment with the systems safety considerations.\nIntegration: Coordinate with the flight software architects and development team to ensure software components work seamlessly with other system components. \nValidation and Verification: Develop integrated use cases to confirm software meets specifications and performs as intended in the system context. \nModel-Based Development: Develop models using languages like UML and SysML to represent system and software architecture, for early requirements validation and enabling early detection of integration issues.\nStakeholder Management: Lead technical meetings and discussions with customers, representing software systems engineering perspectives for various trade studies, and other technical initiatives from concepts through implementation. \nMinium Required Qualifications\nMust be a US Citizen or US permanent resident\nBachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field\n8+ years of experience in systems engineering and/or software systems engineering\nAbility to travel occasionally for customer reviews and technical meetings\nProficiency in C/C++ programming and object-oriented programming principles\nFamiliarity with embedded operating systems (VxWorks, FreeRTOS, cFS)\nOverall knowledge of spacecraft subsystems (e.g., ADCS, C&DH, power, propulsion, payload)\nDemonstrated experience with requirements management tools and processes (eg: JAMA, DOORs, etc)\nUnderstanding of V&V methodologies and practices\nProven ability to lead technical discussions with customers and stakeholders\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster's degree in relevant engineering discipline\nExperience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) - SysML and UML modeling\nFamiliarity with spacecraft mission lifecycles\nExcellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences\nSelf-motivated, fast learner with demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive results\nAbility to work effectively in ambiguous environments and open to using new tools to improve processes and efficiency\nInterface Control Document (ICD) development\nTrade study analysis and decision matrices\nINCOSE CSEP certification or equivalent\n\nIn support of pay transparency at Lanteris Space Systems, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings.
