In this role, you will independently design, analyze, and test GNC algorithms and orbital analysis for various spacecraft missions .\nIntuitive Machines is a leading space infrastructure company that builds spacecraft, connects networks, and operates infrastructure-as-a-service for commercial, civil, and national security customers. With a proven track record across the space domain, the Company, through organic growth and portfolio expansion, has built over 300 spacecraft, delivered over 260 kilograms of payload to the lunar surface, and provided precision navigation expertise that has guided spacecraft across our solar system.\nResponsibilities:\nTechnical Analysis & Support:\nIndependently perform analysis of spacecraft attitude control system performance\nConduct simulation and modeling of GNC algorithms\nAnalyze telemetry data from on-orbit spacecraft\nDesign & Development:\nDevelop GNC flight software components\nCreate and validate MATLAB/Simulink models\nGenerate technical documentation and analysis reports\nDevelop test scripts and automation tools\nContribute to architectural and design decisions\nTesting & Validation:\nPerform GNC hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing activities\nDevelop sensor models (gyroscopes, star trackers, magnetometers, etc.)\nDevelop actuator models (reaction wheels, CMGs, magnetic torque rods, thrusters)\nPrepare test procedures and data analysis scripts\nDocument test results and investigate anomalies\nCollaboration & Mentorship:\nParticipate in design reviews and team meetings\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (Flight Software, Systems Engineering, etc.)\nPresent findings to engineering teams\nMentor junior engineers\nMinimum Requirements:\nMust be a U.S. citizen\nBachelor's degree in Aerospace (Space), Astronautics, Mechanical (Dynamics), Electrical (Controls), Physics (Astrodynamics, Orbits), Applied Math or related field (Master's preferred)\n5 years of related industry experience in spacecraft GNC systems, Master's degree may count for 2 years of experience. PHD may count for 2 years of experience.\nUnderstanding of GNC principles and orbital mechanics\nExperience with full lifecycle GNC development\nTechnical Skills:\nProficiency with C/C++/MATLAB/Simulink/Python/Julia\nExperience with Git/Gitlab-Github, Linux/Windows, AWS Pipelines\n\nIn support of pay transparency at Lanteris Space Systems, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.\n\n•The base pay for this position within California is: $117,000.00 - $195,000.00 annually.\n\nFor all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.\nWe offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, health and welfare insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
