This role offers opportunities to work closely with our Thermal Hardware Engineering team on innovative projects while developing advanced drafting and CAD skills. The Thermal Blanket and Integration Manufacturing team helps provide proper blanketing and protection from temperature, radiation and micro meteors to the satellite while in orbit. You will have an opportunity to help build some of the world’s most complex satellites and space infrastructure products.\nResponsibilities:\nCollaborate with thermal engineers to define blanket designs accounting for thermal requirement, manufacturability and installation ease \nObtain requirements and create 3D modeling of thermal blankets and shields including 3D-printed, fiberglass and metal shielding \nCreate 2D flat pattern templates for manufacturing \nMaintain organized CAD libraries, drawing template revisions, and configuration control \nIncorporate lessons learned from blanket fit checks and evaluate potential process improvements \nCreate and update relevant work instructions for manufacturing \nOperate and maintain the Gerber cutting equipment \nSustain lean manufacturing (5s) and Continuous Improvement and Innovation (CI&I) \nMinimum Requirements\nMust be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident \nHigh school diploma/GED\n4 years of relevant work experience \nAbility to work overtime, weekends, and support occasional shift changes to support programs goals \nPreferred Qualifications\nProficiency in Creo and AutoCAD \nTeamcenter or PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software experience \nStrong understanding of engineering principles and drafting standards \nAbility to interpret technical specifications and drawings \nCan program and operate panel router such as Gerber cutter (using Cutworks software) \nCan program and operate consumer 3D printers (using UltiMaker Cura) \nStrong communication and collaboration skills \n\nIn support of pay transparency at Lanteris Space Systems, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings.
