This role will operate across cloud infrastructure, backend\nservices and APIs, and data platforms, with a focus on architecture, engineering standards, and\nimplementation. The successful candidate will serve as a senior individual contributor who\ncombines architectural judgment with technical execution.\nEssential Job Duties (Specific responsibilities and tasks an individual would be expected to\nperform in the role. Additional job duties may be determined by functional people manager)\n Provide technical leadership across cloud infrastructure, backend services and APIs, and\ndata platforms, ensuring that engineering practices are consistent, scalable, and broadly\nadoptable across the organization.\n Contribute hands-on design and implementation to high-priority projects, with the ability\nto dive deep across multiple software domains.\n Design and develop engineering patterns for APIs, service boundaries, data contracts,\ndeployment models, observability, and operational reliability.\n Contribute to design of data services such as file and event\ningestion and processing, as well as data platforms with\ngoverned data access for analytics teams.\n Lead architecture and design reviews for cross-team\ninitiatives, helping the team make technical tradeoffs and\nalign with platform standards.\n Help establish and reinforce standards for infrastructure as code, CI/CD, automated\ntesting, versioning, documentation, and health and operability requirements across\nservice and platforms.\n Work closely with infrastructure, product, quality, and security to ensure solutions meet\nbusiness, operational, and regulatory requirements.\n Mentor engineers across teams, raising the bar for design and implementation quality\n Required Skills and Experience (Specific skills, knowledge, and experience that an individual\nmust possess in order to successfully perform in job)\n Deep experience building complex software systems across multiple domains such as\ncloud infrastructure, backend services and APIs, data processing systems, and platform\nengineering.\n Proficient in one or more modern programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, or\nrelated.\n Strong experience designing and operating APIs and backend services with clear\ncontracts, versioning, backward compatibility, documentation, authentication and\nauthorization, and observability.\n Strong experience with cloud-native development and platform engineering in AWS,\nincluding infrastructure automation, environment design, deployment patterns, and\nsecurity controls.\n Experience with GitLab CI, automated build and test pipelines, artifact publication,\nrelease automation, and production deployment practices for services and platforms.\n Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code and reusable platform\npatterns that improve consistency, delivery speed, and developer self-service.\n Experience with data ingestion, event-driven systems, and stream or batch processing\narchitectures using technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Flink, Airflow, or similar.\n Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as Postgres, DynamoDB, or\nsimilar, service-side data modeling, and transactional system design.\n Strong understanding of software quality practices,\nincluding unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, along\nwith traceability and artifact publication.\n Strong understanding of reliability, incident response, and\noperational support for business-critical systems.\n Proven ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams through strong design\njudgment, collaboration, and clear communication.\n Experience mentoring engineers and improving engineering standards.\n Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.\nRequired Education and Training (As applicable - Specific education and training that an\nindividual must possess in order to successfully perform in job)\n- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science or related field.\n- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in software engineering, data platforms, and\nrelated functions.\nWorking Conditions (As applicable - Any physical requirements for the job.
