This position will remain open for application based on business need, which may be before or after the 3-day posting window.\nJob Description\nWind Technician\nGary, South Dakota 57237\nDeuel Harvest Energy Center\nAbout the Site\nThe Deuel County Energy Center is a 301 MW wind power generation facility located in Deuel County, SD utilizing GE 2.8 MW and GE 2.3 MW turbine technology.\nPosition Overview\nAs a Wind Technician you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Deuel County Energy Center.\nResponsibilities\nPerform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment\nClimb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.\nUnderstand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment\nTroubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components\nMaintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment\nWork a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods\nRequired Skills\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nOne (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.\nMust be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet).\nAbility to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).\nWeight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks. \nValid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.\nEligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.\nThis is a safety sensitive position.
