Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this role serves as the company's technical authority on battery cell technologies while leading strategic partnerships, advancing intelligent battery solutions, and representing Inventus as an industry thought leader.\nThis position works cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and key external partners to evaluate emerging technologies, support customer engagements, and ensure Inventus remains at the forefront of battery innovation.\nResponsibilities (Including other duties as assigned)\nDevelop and execute the company's battery cell technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.\nEvaluate emerging battery chemistries, cell technologies, and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and product differentiation.\nLead the development of Inventus Power's Battery Intelligence platform by leveraging internal cell test data, field performance data, and strategic collaboration with our partners\nProvide technical direction for next-generation battery technologies, product development, and commercialization.\nStrategic Partnerships\nIdentify, establish, and maintain strategic relationships with leading battery cell manufacturers and technology partners.\nDevelop partners to support North American battery supply chain\nBuild collaborative partnerships with universities, national laboratories (including Argonne National Laboratory), government agencies, and research organizations to accelerate innovation.\nEvaluate and promote new technologies that strengthen Inventus Power's competitive position.\nTechnical Leadership\nServe as Inventus Power's subject matter expert on battery cell technologies.\nProvide technical leadership and consultation across Engineering, Quality, Operations, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership.\nSupport customer meetings, technical reviews, and business development activities as the company's battery cell expert.\nMentor engineering teams and foster technical excellence across the organization.\nCustomer & Industry Leadership\nPartner with Sales to communicate technology roadmaps and emerging battery innovations to strategic customers.\nRepresent Inventus Power at customer meetings, industry conferences, technical forums, and trade organizations.\nCollaborate with Marketing to develop technical papers, presentations, and thought leadership content.\nActively participate in industry organizations and standards committees, including NAATBatt, MPSC, SAE, and other relevant technical working groups\nWhat You Will Need\nPreferred Advanced degree in Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.\n10+ years of experience in battery cell technology, advanced energy storage, or related fields. Experience at major cell manufacturing entities is highly valued.\nDeep expertise in lithium-ion battery technologies, cell characterization, battery management systems, and emerging battery technologies.\nProven experience developing technology strategies, leading innovation initiatives, and establishing strategic technical partnerships.\nDemonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to customers, executive leadership, and industry audiences.\nStrong leadership, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.\nBe available on site for meetings with suppliers, customers, and internal teams on a regular basis. \nTravel\nUp to 30% domestic and international travel to support customers, strategic partners, supplier relationships, research collaborations, and industry events.\nInventus Power is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action employer.
