We continue to invest in our people and processes, while enhancing our products and capabilities in order to create a safer, smarter, and more sustainable battery-powered world.\nWe are an ITAR facility and hire only U.S. persons who are defined as U.S. citizens or green card holders.\nWhat You’ll Do\nThe Electrical Engineer II will be responsible for designing and conducting analysis to support development of battery packs, chargers, and safety systems. The engineer leads concept phase, design activities, reviews, and reports design’s progress with limited supervision. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring appreciable initiative, originality, ingenuity, and excellent problem-solving skills. This engineer will be responsible for technical support of some mature electronic products currently in production. Work environment will be team based, with the engineer supporting development through test verification and manufacturing. The engineer will also be expected to travel domestically and internationally with our global engineering team.\nResponsibilities (Including other duties as assigned)\nComplete ownership of the electrical design for the project with limited supervision from senior level engineers. This includes performing the complete electrical design, creating schematics, layout, DFM with the PCBA supplier, and BOM generation.\nPerform worst case circuit analysis.\nPerform de-ratings for the entire electrical design.\nDesign and document robust hardware architecture and structure suitable for use in high reliability applications.\nLead electrical hardware component selection/optimization for microcontrollers and battery/charger management devices.\nProvide necessary sustaining support to existing products, and work in a cross-functional team environment to assure electrical system level integration and design for manufacturability.\nBe familiar with Electrical DFMEAs to ensure products conform to customer specifications and requirements.\nConstruct prototypes; evaluate and document their performance; identify possible improvements.\nExplore new and existing circuit designs and methods to solve design challenges.\nMaintain an awareness of customer requirements and any complaints to identify any areas that may need development or improvement.\nBe able to work with various design sites globally.\nPrepare technical reports.\nEstablish a culture of learning, openness and accountability.\nWhat You Will Need\nMinimum of bachelor's in electrical engineering degree.\nMinimum 3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing in the consumer, telecom, automotive, and/or military industries.\nFluent in English (spoken and written).\nStrong verbal and written communication skills required.\nStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.\nExperience with electrical CAD modeling systems (i.e. Altium, OrCAD/Cadence) required.\nMust be able to perform electrical schematic capture and conduct PCB layout.\nStrong quantitative, design, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.\nMust have a strong understanding of digital and analog circuitry; experience with system interfaces such as I2C, SPI, CAN, RS-232, USB and/or Ethernet is highly desirable.\nStrong understanding of DC power electronics is required.\nInventus Power is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action employer.
